I got welfare checked last August and from that got kicked out of my uni.

and I got welfare checked again during spring break.

What is it with normies not learning that welfare checks do more harm than good?
I am just.... upset...and disappointed in my friend...

They didn't know, but it feels like...

Honestly I shouldn't have been suicide posting. I should've just killed myself in silence at that moment.

you can get kicked out of uni just because someone requested a welfare check on you?
yeah, that's messed up.

Honestly I shouldn't have been suicide posting. I should've just killed myself in silence at that moment.
Your friend just probably thought they were doing the right thing. Maybe they truly care about you. Can't really fault them for that. If you're really serious about offing yourself, then yeah, best to keep it to yourself then. Some would say that saying something to someone about your suicidal ideation, or even posting about it where someone you know might see it, is really a cry for help, and if you end up getting that help, or at least help of some sort sent your way, it's what you really wanted anyway.

Do they know that you got kicked out of uni as a result? I know it feels malicious, but if they don't you should inform them (but not in a vengeful way). I think people should have to live with the consequences of their actions. Maybe they won't care, but it's some sort of nice cosmic justice or something.

Then again maybe this is a terrible idea.

Can you bring media attention to this? I doubt the uni's actions would look good to anyone. Maybe public pressure could force them to undo their decision.

People seem to not bother to actually think about the potenial ramifications that may come from doing shit like this. The police already have a very bad repuation when it comes to their treatment of those who are mentally ill and psych wards are nortorious for terrible treatment of patients, yet people still call suicide hotlines or 911 to have welfare checks performed on others and pontientally risk them being harmed and forced into being hospitalized.

People have a moral obligation to try and help us which is why its a good idea not to tell people if we are serious about CTB.

Do the people that call for welfare checks and so on truly believe that that medical professionals have the ability to help a suicidal person? That could be the source of the problem. So that might keep them from understanding it is actually just giving someone an involuntary prison sentence to be locked away with potentially dangerous people in traumatizing conditions and potentially marring one's medical, professional, and personal reputation.

For some they will do the call in an attempt to absolve themselves of any legal liability in case you did in fact go through with it and proof was later found that you contacted them.

I can only speculate but I think people want to help and don't know how. Except then you have lots of pro-life messaging saying that the way you help people is to send them to the mental health system so that's what people do; they don't know to do otherwise. I speculate that many people don't really think too hard about it and possible consequences and just sort of do what they're told. The alternative is to try to figure it out on the fly, and you have to keep in mind that the majority of people don't really have the understanding that visitors here do to try and reason better.

This isn't a defense of course, just my speculation at an explanation. Sectioning is NOT ok.

When a person is too emotionally broken, they end up telling someone or someone finds out somehow. It is just a cry for help but no one knows how to help. So, most of the times, society is not able to help them.

Wtf???? Do those retarded morons think that potentially making someone homeless is somehow going to improve their mental health situation?? This world is fucked beyond recovery. I don't know which country you're from but if you're in the US you could probably sue. Stuff like this needs to blow up on social media. Drag those disgusting turds into the light
