My birthday was on Thursday. I am 24 years old and my life is effectively over. It is never going to get better. I have messed up my entire life beyond repair. Suicide is now the only option I have to all these problems. Everything is a mess.

I went from being a hard working law student who wanted to do amazing things with their life to a law graduate who has no future and no direction.
I graduated from University in 2019 with no job , no post graduation plans and no boyfriend.
Everything has to be perfect when you graduate I failed to do that.
I have been unemployed since 2019 no employer is ever going to hire me.
Everything in my life is mess.
I have messed up my twenties this means my 30s will be awful as well.

At least you are smart and you have a degree. That's quite a lot. I can't see a reason why you couldn't have a job if you wanted.

But I understand what you mean. I can't really get over my 20s. I can't even imagine my 30s. I hope I will never reach that age.

Let me share my story; I'm 29 years old. I graduated from engineering school in 2014. I applied for few jobs, and I got no reply. Then I decided to learn programming, and do something on my own because noone really wants to hire me. I started learning on my own, I applied for programming jobs, Guess what?! I got no replies from anyone. So basically, I'm unemployed for 7 years. I never had a job. How do I live? I could make some money online because of some self study I did. I still question life and my destiny "lord, I was hardworking all the these years, and I got nothing..why this? why me?". Of course, there is no answer. Due to my depression, I did nothing in the last months. And these days, I decided to give my life one last chance, I'm studying programming again. Am I going to win? Probably not. But I refuse to leave this life without having my last fight. I want to fight once more and leave.

So please, you're still young. Please give it one more chance. I know it's hard for you, even it's harder for me. Believe me, I'm up now to study and I'm crying. It's really awful for me, but doing something better than nothing.

Can't you employ yourself? I also graduated in 2019 with no true prospects. But when I was finishing college and wasn't so sure about what to do, I considered trying to get a loan to work with labor law (I did my internship in a labor court after almost failing the class). Instead, I decided to just keep up with the plan of trying to work in the public sector. But it was a possibility...

I also considered publishing articles online to gain exposure or doing some kind of postgrad course and going from there.

In the end, I realized I don't really like law and I'm currently trying to escape. But maybe you like it, which would put you in a much better position than mine.

Exactly! She's quite smart!
As for the 30s...well, 33 here, yes, they suck haha.

However, I can still experience nice moments and the cool thing about being in your 30s is that people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s are interested in talking to u lol.

I think people are interested in talking to you just because of YOU not because of your age lol.

Btw you don't look 33, so another reason why it can't be because of the age ;)

You see?
Everytime I read any of your comments, it's impossible not to feel better!
What's more, when I saw in the notifications section that you had quoted my reply, I was already smiling haha.

Thanks, dear!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Life really can be cruel to us and can put us through a lot. I have feelings of dread towards getting older too, as I see my life as pretty pointless. It is awful to feel like this so I hope things improve for you and you get some relief. I wish you the best.

I'm so sorry you are struggling to find a job :( I know where you're coming from. I'm graduating next week and I have no plans, no prospects, and virtually no future. While I was lucky enough to go into STEM, everyone else followed this trend to the point where finding jobs is difficult even with a master's in a STEM, business, or law/criminology type discipline. There are too many graduates now and not enough jobs for all of them to the point where the degree alone does not carry the same weight it did 10 or 20 years ago. I know alumni who studied law, never found a job as an attorney and were forced to become cops/pursue some other job related to the law making about 50-60k a year. While it's not attorney money, it pays the bills (and of course a desk job/administrative position is always an option).

Just like you I'm pretty much screwed, but I think if you expand your options you could find something decent even if it has nothing to do with what you studied and find a way to use that to pursue some type of career in law. I have nothing lined up and I refuse to waste 2 more years in a master's program just to be stuck at square one with no job opportunities. If I cannot find a job within 2 years it'll be the last straw in terms of pushing me to edge of ctb'ing

Your life has just started and you do have a law degree. Also, this are difficult times due to the pandemic. I am sure you can get a job if you apply yourself.

Omg, me too lol. I thought I'm just obsessed with it. Good to know I'm not the only one :)

You seem kinda too good to be truth. I have seen many of your posts and it's always like how can somebody be so nice.

Have a great weekend. I hope you will enjoy saturday's booze.

I agree with this you have some things going for you and are probably smart. I have gone from having everything to feeling like nothing multiple times in a decade. Wish I could go back to 24 or listened to the advice of those older than me to build a safe base for life. You can really go in any direction you want from here if find a passion, that can carry the necessary drive which you've already proven to a degree. Including thinking abstractly if confirming to societal pressures aren't truly fulfilling. For many the 20's are a time to grow, experience adulthood and figure shit out.

Still, I could easily start from here myself, not in as good of a position but some added benefits of wisdom if i could honestly accept a different perspective. It's tough to feel the obstacles are worth the trials. Daily fight. So I completely understand why you feel the way you.

Yes. From my experience, if your 20's were mess then your 30's will be even worse. The life is progressive, starting a s a blank paper, but once you know that it's game over, then it truly is.
