  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

Anywhere you go out, you're always on a camera. Facial recognition cameras to track everything you do, and where you go. No sense of community. No more sense of culture.

Everyone is on their smartphones all the time and always use computers, which caused a huge mass psychosis problem in our societies, thus destroying them.

Nobody lives in the real world anymore. Life is just meaningless now. Nobody is trustworthy.

How can anyone be happy in a human world that isn't even real?

I do not understand how anyone could want to live in a world as awful as this. I want nothing to do with living at all. Life is completely meaningless, it is just a pointless experience that we go through for the sake of it. Other people can be very cruel and can often just make things worse. More than anything I wish that I never existed, to me it is horrifying how life is even a thing in the first place.

Even if I was normal looking (main reason i want to kill myself) and had miraculously good health this world where everyone is just a walking smart phone is a dystopia beyond any of my own imagining. I can't search my own threads but I'm sure I made one similar to this at some point.
There is nothing to recover for. And it only will get worse with more AI and devices connected to the cloud that do your thinking for you.
It makes me physically ill so I don't think about it.

I really dislike people. Nowadays people don't take their time to get to know someone, it's just about looks and status and no one cares about your personality. People are so fake, and there's little empathy left. And as soon as there's no use for you anymore, people dump you. Sure there are a few exceptions, but they are hard to find. I don't fit it and I don't feel like I belong in society.

Depends on where you're going I guess. I worry a bit for my privacy online and offline but I'm not as concerned as I used to be.

IRL? Most if not a majority of those cameras you see in stores or on the streets, aren't actually watching you, that or they aren't even connected to anything. Some places have CCTV for theft or whatever in high crime areas, but they probably shred all of the footage.
Also, a lot of places put cameras or mirrors there just to prevent crime, psychologically feeling like you're being watched makes you much less likely to commit a crime.

If you live in china that's probably a different story.

I wish I had a chance to live way back in the day, seems like a much simpler time. There's definitely some benefits to living in this era, but there's no doubt in my mind that i would rather live before the internet and all this technology and surveillance came around.

Im only 21 and in my relatively short lifetime so far ive seen so much change, predominantly for the worse.

I remember back when I first started kindergarten, the internet was still in it's infancy to an extent and really wasn't a big thing, the teachers used to use chalkboards and everything was done out of textbooks, fast forward a few years to near the end of my primary school years and it was more technology based, no more chalkboards, only smartboards and the internet and technology were becoming more and more a part of learning and everyday life in general.

I can only imagine how older people feel.

Are you living in Beijing? The technocratic dystopia isn´t as advanced in southern Spain, but we´ll get there, no worries.
They don't call them "cell"phones for the nothing.
Nor it is called "Android" for nothing either... 🔺👁️❔
