I got a site-wide 3-day ban from Reddit and a 999-day ban from a subreddit for saying that I direct suicidal people to a site with reliable methods.

Yes, this is the site. I don't mention it publicly ever, only in DMs to people who are suicidal and trying ineffective, painful methods. They deserve to find peace and SaSu can help them with better methods.

From what I'm aware reddit sounds like a very anti-suicide site, I think that spending time on somewhere like that would just lead to more suffering. The problem is that many humans lack any compassion which is shown by how they are against the right to die, and believe that existence should be prolonged at all costs, I think preventing people from going through horrible failed attempts is a compassionate thing and it disgusts me how that is viewed as so wrong.

To me humans are the worst species with how they wish to deny what should be a basic human right, we all deserve the option of a peaceful and permanent escape from this existence.

Yeah Reddit as a whole is (no surprise!) another normie, pro-life platform for the most part. Even in more fringe subreddits, they are still very anti-CTB and any mention or discussion of such immediately gets shut down or something, it's quite sad imho.

Anti-suicide, but pro-bullying and being rude. I used Reddit for a very short time to ask about resources for translating a book into english, and the people that responded were very rude and unhelpful, and I got downvoted all to hell because I didn't ask well enough I guess?

There's also a ton of very disturbing and violent subs, but god forbid someone mention wanting to end their life and needing to talk :/

I say this because I remember seen this post where someone openly said that wanted to kill themselves by SN method, but was asking where to get it. The responses he got was people making jokes of his post.

I was also permanently banned back in March. Fucking Reddit - it used to be something, but it's really gone to shit and many of the mods there are ego tripping.

When I was banned, it was over a meme. The sub I was most active in, which I won't mention as it's embarrassing to admit ( - it involved celebrity snark, nonsense really, but funny nonsense), the main mod of the sub had been messaging me and we developed a friendship of sorts. I created a lot of content for the sub and most of it was well received but when the mod took time off, she allowed Reddit to automod while she was away. Shortly after, I posted the meme in a thread and got hit with the perma ban.

I did try to appeal it but it was useless. In my final appeal, I just said fuck it - Reddit isn't Reddit anymore, and I gave one last thank you to one of the creators of Reddit, Aaron Swartz, who was a real one, and would be disgusted by Reddit in its current state if he were still here. He left Reddit in 2007, and in 2013 he chose to CTB (not due to Reddit; he left Reddit willingly).

Whenever I see pics of Alexis Ohanian, I think to myself…you son of a b, selling Reddit to the highest bidder and bailing. Ohanian is a businessman at the end of the day. Swartz was a pioneer and was uninterested in flash and fame.

I remember when r/SanctionedSuicide was still a sub, then r/FreeToGo…

Before I found this site I considered posting on r/suicidewatch but it felt like I'd be being dishonest with myself in a sense. I didn't truly understand why ctb would be wrong from a moral or logical viewpoint and would kinda just be... acting like I wanted help because I thought I was supposed to? Yes, it sounds stupid now.

When I found this site and read the stickied threads in this subforum discussing the philosophical aspect of suicide, I felt understood. A lot of what I'd felt was expressed in words.

WTAF ! This site does more to help me get through the day than Reddit ever could. Caring for a semi invalid partner and an old dog who depends on me, with medical issues of my own, I can't CTB when I'm having a bad day. So, thank goodness for at least someplace where folk get how I feel.

There was a mod on Reddit who made it his mission to troll me after a joke I made which exposed his hypocrisy. He would message me all kinds of shit, but made the mistake of using his actual picture for his profile. I memed him into a cone head and got a 3 day ban. Petty of me, yes. He got booted from modding when I showed the screenshots of his messages to me.

Someone messaged me once saying they knew my age (they didn't) and were going to enjoy fucking with me but I guess they didn't realize Reddit has a block user feature. Snuffed that out quick.

There's another feature on Reddit, it's to send a user a message of concern if one think another user might be in distress. People use that feature to troll as well - they'll send it repeatedly to users they don't like for whatever reason(s). That feature can be turned off.

Ah, that was a sub I got banned from by default when r/depression banned me. I believe they are run by the same mods, or at least have mods in common.

I just got a lifetime ban on Reddit lol because I commented 'good!" about Dr Nasser, the guy who was stabbed ten times in prison, who molested hundreds of underage girl atheletes--My comment violated their 'no advocation of violence' rule--and I have a million posts on Reddit

We all know it's better to let someone die in guilt than it is to reassure them, eh?
But there's a chance this person wanted people to convince them not to do it. Posting on Reddit is not the first impulse of someone with CTB plans. It's obvious what responses they'd get under this kind of post.
