  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I have plenty of reasons I use to excuse why I haven't killed myself yet, but if I'm being honest, the real reason I'm still here is that there are people out there who I know would celebrate if they found out I had caught the bus. I wish there were some way for me to ensure that no obituary would be published nor funeral held following my death, but I've done some research and I don't think it's possible.

Anyone else feel this way?

I don't feel that way, but it probably is possible - though not easy - to arrange that no information about your death ever gets out. You would have to "disappear", so that nobody actually knew that you had died. In my own case, I will ctb if my husband dies before me. I would head off to a remote region where my body would probably never be found. (I would leave delayed emails, so people would know what has happened, as I prefer that people close to me know.) However to do something like that requires a lot of plannning and preparation. You also need to consider whether not knowing whether you are alive or dead would cause more problems for your family and friends than you want to put them through. Not knowing whether someone you like is alive or dead can be quite hard to handle.
