  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

i can't fucking find a job, i'm trying for a better life but i can't even get interviews. the part-time retail job i have schedule me once a week, i'm practically unemployed. places are always saying they're hiring but they're lying, they close positions before even viewing applications. i'm so pissed off at this point i don't even know where to go or what to even do with myself these days. also fuck all those companies that make you create accounts with them just to apply. god i'm so pissed i wish i could just melt into the ground.

I feel the same way. I've graduated from college almost a year ago and I haven't been able to land a job since. From the 100+ jobs I've applied to, I've only managed to get into 5 interviews (with one of those having nothing to do with my major) and I either don't hear back afterwards or I get a rejection email. It seems all the entry-level positions want 2-3 years of experience in certain skills, but how am I supposed to get experience if I can't get into the industry?

I did interview with a staffing company last week for a position that they said was "truly entry-level" from their point of view. I felt some confidence after the interview, so I'm praying this pulls through in a couple weeks. Otherwise, it's back to the drawing board.

I also agree with your point on making multiple accounts for each company. Workday fucking SUCKS when it comes to that. I wish we could make one account and use it for all the companies they service.

Even in Red States, the urban cities are usually Blue. If they live in the city. But you know your town better than me, just saying it might be more okay than you think. It'll be okay. I'd be more concerned with my living situation, tbh, but I'm wishing you luck. Just keep pushing and it will be impossible to not get a job eventually. :)

That's actually a really good ratio of applications to interviews. For experience, you have to get internships or volunteer, usually. You can also show home projects or school projects and that counts as experience. You just fib a little and if you had any cursory experience (even just googling it once), you can count that. It's not a hard and fast requirement, they just throw that shit out there to try to get the best they can and filter out people who either don't have the gumption or experience.

The more honest you are the more it will backfire. Though of course that's only relating to the experience. You still have to be honest about your skills and abilities.

I feel you man. In a similar place right now for almost a year. Seeking employment in this market is so dehumanizing, you have every right to be pissed. The system is failing us and corporations have no care about whether we starve or not. Just remember that it's not your fault. Don't let anyone give you that "Just try harder! Network!" bullshit. Hang in there, and I sincerely hope you find a job soon.
I'm with you too on the account shit too. Just let me put in my contact info without giving away data to 7 different third party websites and end up with my e-mail full of spam, making it harder to see if I even got a callback!! ٩(ఠ益ఠ)۶
