As they say, beauty in the eye of the beholder. First I'm sure you're not ugly like you may think and secondly, it wouldn't matter because what matters is the way you treat others and your self-esteem. Looks are only skin deep and they fade with time.

I don't claim to know how both of you to feel but you have my compassion and I just hope that you both recognize the beauty that you have on the inside if you're not able to see the beauty on the outside. I know it might sound corny or cliché, but what truly matters is what's on the insidequestion - how did you know/arrive to this conclusion that you're ugly? have you been consistently told that by people around you since you're a child til now? or do you look into the mirror and decided that you're ugly. sorry if bit insensitive, genuinely curious. I'm sorry you feel this way. Must be rough

Real asf all this world cares about really is how people look, get born looking like me and all of a sudden "self beauty" ain't a good thing.

In my opinion, this is truly one of the most brutal realities of the world/nature. Some people are born truly beautiful while others are born butt-ugly. Having a good life is mostly about luck imo. I remember a friend of my ones told me, that he didn't think ugly people should be allowed to have children, since they would just be setting that child up for a bad life. People can call that immoral, but it's the hard truth.

Lookism is a thing yes it's true our looks have something to do with our perception of our surrounding, people getting treated differently for their look, it's a real thing and it happened in this world, too bad most are dismissive about it and often experience of people with below average or not good looking is being brushed off
