I'm able to find lime sulfur off Amazon. I can't really find hydrochloric acid. I think it's toilet bowl cleaner but the toilet bowl cleaners I see like Lysol idk what the percentage of HCL are. My questions are
1) what concentration of HCL do I need? I found 37% on Amazon
2) what products can I find on Amazon to get HCL?
3) do I need 150ml or 500ml each product to mix into hydrogen sulfide?

I already know the dangers of this method. I have an old beater in the back of the property that I will seal off with duct tape etc

PPH 2022 suggests mixing 500 ml of lime sulfur with 500 ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid for a confined space like a car.

35 - 39% hydrochloric acid is generally considered concentrated. At so high concentrations, hydrochloric acid is a fuming liquid that actively releases gaseous hydrogen chloride, which is a highly corrosive and irritating gas.

The reason why concentrated acid is recommended is probably because it can react with lime sulfur more quickly than a dilute acid, thus producing H2S faster. A smaller time of exposure to low concentrations of H2S before reaching high concentrations of H2S (that effectively produce unconsciousness) implies smaller chances of experiencing some bad symptoms from inhaling the gas. But the presence of high amounts of hydrogen chloride released from concentrated hydrochloric acid into air may overweight the benefits of quick production of H2S due to discomfort caused by inhaling HCl. So whether concentrated hydrochoric acid is optimal for preparation of H2S is questionable.

It's also remarkable that whenever you open a vessel containing a concentrated hydrochloric acid after it was closed for a long time, a lot of pressurized hydrogen chloride is released immediately, forming a highly irritating cloud around. This is why I'd recommend to open containers with hydrochloric acid outside of the car or whatever confined space you're going to use.

The best techniques of H2S poisoning (causing the least discomfort) would use producing H2S by reactions like Al2S3 + H2O or Na2S + H2SO4 with further adminestering of the gas via a face mask or a plastic bag.

You may be better off doing iron sulfide with sulfuric acid. There won't be any Chlorine gas produced this way, so you'll not only have less suffering but also a lesser chance to attract attention (Chlorine's distinct color and smell is more likely to get people alarmed).

WHEN EXPOSED TO HYDROGEN SULFIDE:
o 0-50 ppm: minor eye, nose, and throat irritation
o 10-50 ppm: headache, dizziness, nausea/vomiting, coughing,
and difficulty breathing
o 50-200 ppm: severe eye and respiratory irritation, convulsions
and shock, coma, and even possible death
o Levels above 700 ppm will cause immediate death after just
two or three breaths.

Only ½ to 1 cup of each chemical will produce enough
gas to fill a standard four door sedan with 1000 ppm of
toxic gas. This is instant death !
Dont recomend trying this as dying from hydrogen sulphide poisoning will be agonious

As a person who works in a lab, be very very careful with concentrated HCl. The fumes alone are bad enough. Breathing them in will irritate your lungs (because it is slowly dissolving them) and you will get chemical burns if you get it on your skin. It will also slowly destroy any plastic so always store it in a glass container.

FeS + H2SO4 should be better, but the acid must be dilute (10 - 20%). If concentrated H2SO4 is used, irritating SO2 may be produced.

HCl doesn't produce chlorine upon reacting with sulfides/polysulfides either.
so you'll not only have less suffering but also a lesser chance to attract attention (Chlorine's distinct color and smell is more likely to get people alarmed).
Attention may be attracted by H2S which has a distinct odor perceivable at very low concentrations.

o 50-200 ppm: severe eye and respiratory irritation, convulsions

Those effects take place after a long exposure (several minutes or hours, depending on the H2S concentration). The mechanism of irritation is likely to be related to oxidizing of H2S to SO2 in presence of atmospheric oxygen and moisture, eventually forming sulfurous acid. High concentrations of H2S (over 1000 ppm) cause rapid loss of consciousness before significant irritating effects, nausea or vomiting could be achieved. At 5000 ppm or above, unconsciousness appears shortly after a single deep inhale (probably within 10 seconds).

An instant respiratory arrest with no symptoms.

I was thinking I'd have to dilute the solution anyways since ferrous sulfate acts as a passivation layer in concentrated sulfuric acid (which is why you can store concentrated solutions in steel tanks, but not diluted)

It shows in this that when chemicals are mixed together it takes 9 minutes to produce a fatal amount. What would it be like in that time before death? id imagine the gas would be so painful that it would force you to leave your car before it reaches that fatal limit. I've heard this method be advertised as being painless am I wrong?
