Using a glove (preferably nitrile glove) helps with handling acids. Also I don't know if that's what you mean, but expect a painful eye reaction (to the H2S after the reaction) before losing consciousness. H2S causes the most irritation to the eyes. Some people wear goggles in the hopes of counteracting against eye pain. Obviously we don't know if they worked 100%, because yeah they're dead and we cannot ask them... But it is better to take precautions rather than doing nothing I guess.

If I were to buy a pair of goggles, I would NOT buy a ventilated one. Ventilated goggles are designed to prevent any fogging-up on the goggles. But such ventilation will cause some H2S to enter.

Second thing to consider is that, it is a terrible idea to use concentrated hydrochloric acid. If the concentration is like 30%, 38%, it's going to fume all over and hurt a lot to inhale. It makes sense to use diluted versions (like 10%, or 15%).

About fire hazard, I don't know. H2S is theoretically flammable starting at around 4% in the air, which is 40.000ppm. That is A LOT, and unlikely to happen I believe. I haven't read any news or case reports mentioning fire or explosions with h2s suicides. BUT nobody can make guarantees and strong claims. Do not have any hot surfaces nearby, not a candle, not a match, cigarettes, lighters etc. Don't touch light switches, electrical outlets as they can trigger an electrostatic spark.

According to the pics of the products, it is 23% CaSx and 31% HCl. I'd dilute the acid with water first, 31% is too high. Hydrochloric acid at that concentration is pungent, if you just open the muriatic acid container's cap, you'll understand what I mean. Diluting it with water with 1part to 1part decreases it to 15% concentration. One can ask "if the result is lethal anyways, why should I care", and the answer is if it becomes so painful to breathe because of HCl vapours, one can panic and abort the attempt. Though obviously it depends on determination and personal pain threshold, I wouldn't count on that...

If you have never handled - diluted acids before, the order is important: "PUT THE WATER FIRST, THEN ADD THE ACID ON TOP SLOWLY". If it is done at the wrong order, the acid may splash and you could hurt yourself.
