Discussion How was your closest ctb attempt and what made you fail?

Mine was probably when I was going to jump off my balcony but doubt didn't let me: was it high enough? What if I survived?

@daydreamer52 Closest was barium acetate. I consumed maybe a gram (IDK, I was eyeballing it) and experienced an abnormal heart rhythm and muscle weakness. I also was very dizzy and confused.

The odds your balcony was high enough are pretty bad.

My closest was I tried hanging in my basement but I was too tall and my feet touched the ground.

Hypothermia maybe five or six years ago. I was pretty close to being successful when they found me. They thought they were going to have to amputate my left leg from the knee down but the circulation ended up returning so it was okay. That would have seriously sucked.

Heroin. I got found and sent to the hospital. I got charged with misdemeanor possesion and lost my drivers license for two years.

Paracetamol - pain was absolutely awful, somehow managed to hold out for near 24hrs but was taken to hospital and stomach pumped

I took a bottle of it and then immediately passed out. when I woke up a few hours later I was in a lot of pain and was hallucinating and my muscles were spasming uncontrollably. I got really scared and called my sister for help instead of taking the second bottle of pills I had. if I had just taken them all at once I probably would've died, but I got so tired so quickly that I couldn't stay awake after the first bottle.

it was terrible; I was completely out of it and spent two days in the ICU. I don't remember the first day, but my mom later told me I kept telling her there was a cat sitting on my lap (even though there wasn't) and I kept taking out my IV because I thought the hospital was trying to poison me. it also took 2 days until I could walk again because I was so weak, and instead of eating all I could do was throw up. I definitely would not recommend overdosing!

My attempt was with Tylenol PM. Id typed out my letter and had in send on a timer. Some how I must have set for pm and not am. I hadn't done enough research on if the pills would even work. I hadn't even taken the first handful when the cops came.
