Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

My understanding is that it's hard to get pure helium now, and the amount of oxygen in the mix makes it ineffective for the inert gas exit bag method.

the tank listed is 80/20 helium/air, it might not be a viable method

What kind of helium tank do I need to buy? Is this one worth it or not? If not, please recommend what tank I should buy.

Is a helium tank useful or not?

Not the least bit useful.
If you want to CTB with inert gas, every last detail is explained in the inert gas + exit bag megathread… and that's located in the suicide resource compilation. The src has a megathread on every viable method. That's the last of the pinned threads on the main page of this part of the site. It's essential reading for anyone who wants to CTB or be able to participate in convos about methods here in any meaningful way. This should be the first thing every member does after joining.

It's not hard to get. Pure helium can still be found where pure inert gasses are sold.

I didn't know that. Is there a justifiable use for buying it at a retail level, do you know? I know that nitrogen is used for welding, home brewing, and aquarium use, so there are non-ctb related reasons for a retail (nonindustrial) buyer to purchase it.

Helium is also used in welding, apparently, and in leak detection. However, nitrogen is cheaper, more abundant, and it's considered to be the gold standard to CTB.
