How to obtain Metoclopramide prescription from a Doctor

I have a doctors appointment in a couple of days. What symptoms should I complain about in order to get the doctor to prescribe Metoclopramide that is needed for the SN method? I'm afraid if I don't complain about the right condition/symptom or emphasize the severity of it she might just might recommend over the counter strength antiemetic or a something that is not Metoclopramide. How do I steer her towards prescribing me that particular drug?. How did you obtain an antiemetic prescription? I know I can order online form some websites however I'm concerned about the authenticity and quality of medicine received from those websites.

Metoclopramide will never be the first choice a doctor prescribes for nausea or vomiting. However it is used for migraines in conjunction with ASS. So "i got Metoclopramide + ASS prescribed before, helped alot" might work. But google migraine + metoclopramide beforehand to sound convincing.

That family member with similar problems let me have one of her Meto tablets and it worked wonders.

Everything about this is spot-on (and a great idea, I like it better than mine) but I still think you'll find yourself on the hook for a GI consult. Just in case you have a change of heart, or a full- blown epiphany and decide to, you know, live a while longer and eventually require primary health care ;).

When it comes to asking for a particular prescription, the response tends to depend on where you live.

Once again, I suggest that everybody on the forum should include their country/state in their profile. The argument that this somehow compromises anonymity is weak.

Perhaps the easiest way to obtain Metoclopramide would be to mention to your primary care physician that you have nausea which hasn't been resolved using other pills. It would be very helpful to make a brief reference to you having used Metoclopramide to good effect in the not so distant past without any serious side effects. This should nudge your doctor to prescribe Metoclopramide for you given your (allegedly) good tolerance to it...

Ok, so here's how I got mine. It was for legitimate reasons and by accident, since it was before I ever knew I specifically needed it.

I have chronic nausea and vomiting, so I'm prescribed Zofran already. I had a documented medical issue that got me that, but its really not difficult to get if you say you have severe nausea for awhile and nothing helps.

On a few occasions, I've had the Zofran stop working. I would continue to be extremely nauseous and vomit even after taking lots of it. When I called my doctor and told them that, they short term prescribed Meto instead. I didn't have to ask for it. It just seems to be the next step up.

You could always try to nudge them in that direction and say Meto has helped you in the past and stuff, but it might backfire. If they prescribe you something different at first, don't worry. Just pretend to take awhile and say it didn't work and eventually you should end up with what you want.

If you complain of reflux, you're very likely to get Omeprazole or similar instead. Generalized nausea/vomiting for over an extended time is a safer bet, in my opinion.

I really think that Fragile's advice on explaining that you took one before for complaints of nausea & vomiting is rock solid. Don't be nervous; the practitioner won't care, it's not like you're asking for morphine.

Failing that, there's a website and app called India Mart. Not the easiest site to navigate, but you can find just about any drug you want, reasonably shipped w/o a prescription.

I tried all this, got the paperwork for the bloodwork, not yet sure if I'll go.... and I do have legitimate intermittent nausea.

Fair enough. I have ordered several times with several sellers and have had outstanding experiences, but I can't speak to every one of them. Most of them are pharmacies based out of India and Singapore. I can only vouch for my 3-4 transactions. I also prefer PayPal, and legit sellers definitely do not want a PayPal dispute. I also tend to think when ordering meds without a script, the TRUSTseal isn't worth much ;).

Addendum: Reglan (metoclopramide) is maybe the last med I'd worry about getting bilked over... it's not illicit, in demand, or expensive enough to interest any scammers. The caveat is, most of them have a minimum which may be 10 times more than you want or need.

I second this. Im living in EU, germany btw.

Or may there be any other ways to obtain Domperidone instead of meto? Found several online pharmacies that would do a questionnaire for the prescription, is that legit?
