Help How to obtain a gun as an Australian citizen?

Thanks to a certain shooting guns are difficult to get in Australia. Looking for any way I can get a hold of one, whether that be purchasing overseas (in-person) or domestic. Problem is it seems like even pro-gun ownership countries like the US don't sell to random tourists. Any countries that do? A beautiful handgun and a box of hollow points is the only method that isn't completely unappealing to me.

join a public club that belongs to one of the major organizations
attach the approval letter to a license application (sport/target shooting for handguns)
pass the background checks (they only cover criminal history and involuntary institutionalization)
complete the safety course (depending on the state, at your range)
submit the permit to acquire while waiting for your card to arrive and install a safe

despite what people think, it's piss easy to legally obtain a firearm and mostly a matter of finances. some states are cheaper than others, with the high end being just below 1k.
