I am in the process of accumulating funds so i can buy a firearm to ctb with. I plan on going through a private sale because my state allows that and i do not need to register or get any kind of card for my firearm. I just have to setup a private sale. My plan is in the beginning stages but I was wondering if anyone who has been through something similar has any advice for a frail neet loser like myself? I can barely look my siblings in the eye let alone a stranger. I have no idea how i am going to do a transaction in real life without coming off disturbing or cause for concern, especially due to my physical appearance, speech pattern, and mannerisms. I guess i will just have to put on a really good act. Also i have literally no experience with firearms so i hope they do not decline the sale due to my inexperience. sigh! this is awkward and will take courage to put myself through but at least it will be less painful than other options.....

It's okay to be nervous, especially in the context of it being your first time buying a firearm. I'm sure other people get nervous buying one especially if it's being used for self defense and not hunting. As someone who also has trouble talking to people I relate. Maybe you could try practicing a hypothetical scenario of how the transaction will go alone in your room or talking to yourself in the mirror if you have one. It's not easy just "getting over" your social anxiety in a short amount of time or if you even have something like autism so don't beat yourself up over it.

I am in a similar situation though I plan to take a lesson at the store where I can buy one. I went and failed many times to even walk in.

Finally one time I did go in and talked with them. I'm not sure where that courage came from.

But I've failed many times to take the lesson. You don't even need an appointment. Just go. I've sat in parking lot. Walked in and back out. I sit in a nearby park try to work up the courage.

I may abandon using a gun or I'll give up on idea of a lesson. But I need a lesson. Otherwise I know I'll screw it up

Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. It's ok the be awkward. They'll have seen awkward before.
