Shallow-water blackout really lends itself to look like an accident. Not much is needed. You can even practice the syncope.

It is difficult. If they look into you at all really, it could raise suspicion. I've thought about it again and again. With my depression alone, my death would raise eyebrows. And accidents are never ever guaranteed fatal. A lot of what I've thought about could put others at risk or leave me alive still, neither of which u want

People who can swim frequently drown as well, you just have to make it look like an accident, falling into a cold river while drunk and wearing a lot of clothing. Clothing, especially cotton, makes it harder to swim.

There was a CSI episode many years ago where a young man stabbed himself to death by wedging a knife into a door and thrusting himself upon it. In the episode, those investing the death were able to figure out what happened due to damage on the door frame and the slightly unusual angle of the stab wounds. The victim had endured such a painful death to acquire an insurance payout for his family, but he received nothing for them.

This is fiction, but it illustrates that framing a suicide as anything but would be extremely difficult. The only possible candidate (that I can think of) would be drowning as it would be difficult to prove that a person did not slip or fall, but even then, it would ambiguous. Also, if there's money involved, there will be suspicions raised very quickly as most insurance policies won't pay out for suicide.

As long as there is not another vehicle involved I don't really think the police would do much investigating. Sadly my husband wrecked my car last week so all of my planning went with it. This is very, very difficult to accomplish. Chances are that you will wind up gravely injured but alive and your life will get much worse.

Also, accident investigators are very good at their jobs. The lack of brake marks or skid marks will signal an intentional move.

Most suicide cases that are framed as accidents are cracked because of the dead person computer and phone analysis (and you would be shocked to know that a lot of murder cases are cracked only because of that too).

Here in England where I live throughout the past couple of weeks everyday in the news there has been excessive coverage about Nicola Bulley who is a middle class dog walker and mother of 2 that went missing after walking her dog in a park and logged into a Microsoft Teams meeting call. Today her body was found.

Her irritating family kept being defensive on tv saying how her life is perfect, how she will never abandon her kids and how she is good mother had they told the truth maybe she could have been saved. I felt sorry for them but afterwards they kept interfering in the police investigation, criticing the police and not leaving the police to do their jobs. It eventually came put the woman was an alcoholic and a month before she went missing the police and health care team came to her house for a welfare check. In the UK you get a police welfare check if you are danger to yourself ie suicidal or have harmed yourself in your own home. That woman killed herself

you can try going missing (not sure if it's easier said than done depending on where you live) or making it look like you ran away, or packed your things and just took off to pursue a dream or something (unlikely people will suspect you were pursuing death) once you took off, you could try finding somewhere remote and hope no one finds the body for long enough. not quite the same as accident but it might not seem as intentional as hanging or slitting your wrists??

I don't think it's possible as long as there's a thorough police investigation or an autopsy. The latter is mandatory in some countries, for example if cremation is desired.

If there is an understandable reason for your death, the investigation will likely not find a CTB.

This long ago was my concern but most policies that are old, will still pay. The attached stigma for the people left is what I'd like to avoid. I live in a coastal city so reasonable drowning is okay but I think since it has to be the ocean I might not be found or will be eaten and I'd like to not have that happen. There is a way to do everything. I'm afraid of the pain of drowning, but I think enough alcohol and THC in my system will help it not hurt and help me not to panic at the end, which is something you might expect if you intend to be aware/alert at the time of death. I just don't know how to not have my family know exactly what happened or how to make sure I get found so I can be disposed of properly. I don't want this life but I don't want an undignified death. Suggestions for how to plan an ocean death without it being a gruesome or terrible (fish food) experience?

Drowning is painful but I think this might be an answer if you have enough alcohol or whatever in your system that you don't feel it. Suspect drowning just brings attention though, like in the Bulley story. I'm wondering what anyone's thoughts are on how to do it so the family thinks it was just a tragic accident and doesn't make a fuss. Do you quietly leave a hidden note somewhere you know someone will stumble on it and quietly stop any police or others from asking too many questions?

Insurance is definitely part of the reason why I would Ike to make it look like an accident. But I know it will be easier on my family, who would spend the rest of their lives blaming themselves. Even though they are a major part of why I'm thinking of ctb, i wouldn't wish my pain on anyone. Let them think it was an accident.
