Hi,
So I was sectioned today and now in a "lovely" NHS mental hospital. Anybody got any idea how to ctb here?

I'm torn between been a good little girl and taking the meds and pretending to be fine to get out quicker or kicking up a fuss because I really don't want meds in me, to lure me into a false sense of "everything's better, life's worth living" when clearly it's not and never will be!
I don't want help, I'm beyond that, it's my life and I want to decide my death.

You should wait until you get out. If you attempt to CBT you will likely be kept there for forever.

Use ligature strangulation. You need a pen, a shoestring and a plastic bag.

There is almost always a way to kill yourself. It's just insanely more difficult in a mental hospital and it doesn't helpSurvival Instinct is the strongest instinct twists anything lethal

Will be very difficult . I think ligature strangulation is really difficult to do, hard to compress the arteries . Maybe better to wait til you leave

Nah. Not at all, I made a video on how to do it. It's just uncomfortable. But of course you'll trash around and the tourniquet will untie, and you'll wake up if you're not using it with another method (like a plastic bag, or drowning). You can also tie knots around your neck till you pass out.

All that happens when I try this method is compression of jugular veins causing the exploding head feeling and petechiae on face. No feeling of faintness . If left on like this not sure if it would work or just cause a stroke due to back pressure of blood in brain

I'm unclear how it compresses the carotid arteries before the veins , as the veins need a much lower pressure to close. Does it depend on weight , neck size , how tight tourniquet is ? It suggested to be an easy method in Five Last Acts but isn't mentioned in the PPH

You need to turn the pen until you start feeling dizzy, it doesn't matter if you feel pain. Turn it even if you do feel pain. You can't do it comfortably. That's how I did it in the video, and my neck skin still hurts. You stop turning it only when you're about to faint, if you're not feeling dizzy you keep turning it.

I never tried this, but I guess you could tie many strings around your neck until you get the pressure necessary to close the arteries. And they wouldn't untie, so there would be no need for a plastic bag. This person did it this way.

I was taken to the psych ward several times so far - no chance of CTB where I stayed. Everything was secured (they even disassembled the shower heads so you couldn't hang yourself etc.), night patrols...
They also took my mobile phone. Did you smuggle it in there?
The best strategy is to just play along and try to get out there asap. Everything else would be very risky and may extend your stay. Don't sign anything of course, otherwise they may keep you in there for much longer.
Omg fuck this world run by tyrannical governments where they LITERALLY force you to live! If a person wants to die it is THEIR choice!!! No one asked to be born!

Why do they do that? What's the point of keeping you from killing yourself? When you legit have a good reason to. Do they make money off of keeping suicidal people in there?
Of course they make $Money$

I'm in a mental hospital as well. We can have visitors, which is how I plan to go.

How the hell are you guys getting access to the internet from a mental hospital? I was in for a few days of March/April this year and you don't get SHIT. Not even a phone unless you're using one of the staff phones that are tethered to the nurse's station and they stand and watch/listen. No shoe strings, no bags, no way to KTB via asphyxiation. They wouldn't even let me have my "baby blanket" (why yes, I'm 30 and still sleep with one, STFU). No strings in pants or sweatshirts they remove them. No cell phones no computers no internet.

I guess some mental hospitals are more laid back than others.

I've worked in a psychiatric hospital for over 2 years now. Very hard to CTB in one, especially if everything is anti-ligature, though not impossible. However, if it is like my facility, if you attempt to CTB they will put you on 1:1 observation and keep you there longer. Better to just stay calm until they can't justify you're being a threat to yourself.

I've been a patient myself a couple times at other facilities and there was really no way to attempt it. They had seriously put some thought into making those places suicide-resistant .
I was able to ALMOST ctb in the hospital. I was able to find a method to do partial hanging. But a nurse came in before I was expecting another check and caught me

Not here! I've been in 4 in this state, one in the midwest and not even a STATE psych institution (which are supposedly hellholes so trying my best to avoid that...) and NONE of them have allowed internet access at all. Phones have always been very limited and no cell phones at all it gets locked up with all your stuff. One place I went to wouldn't even let you wear your own clothes/underwear, you had to wear scrubs and whatever underwear they gave you.

ETA hell at the last place I was at we weren't even allowed to wear WATCHES which was driving me up the wall because the only clocks are in the group room and at the nurses station which was FAR from my room and I couldn't tell if I had slept or if I had been hallucinating because I couldn't tell if any time had gone by (I had gone for over a month of almost no sleep; prior to being admitted 8 days in a row with none at all) and I have mobility issues and they wouldn't let me have my forearm crutch either so I had to slowly drag myself along the wall to and from the end of the hallway where my room was to the nurses station to check the time all night long.

I managed to get a cell phone in there at one of my stays, but I made the mistake to call my parents. They called the station and it was gone a few minutes later (even tough I burried the phone in a flower pot standing on the corridor, lol). Guess I wasn't the first one who choose this hiding place. :)

Ohh shit, millview hospital, I've been there, I was on that ward a couple months ago. They've really cracked down on suicide proofing that place.
