• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Everyone is just awful, everyone is scamming each other, everyone is killing each other, we are being ruled either by bunch of old mafia-men or by bunch of pedophiles kidnapping kids off the street, no one cares about anything or anyone anymore, our energy is being leeched off of by some creatures, no one is kind or welcoming, high trust society is slowly dissappearing everywhere, the world is transforming into some place where you will be continuously scammed and taken advantage of and there is nothing you can do to stop it, "everybody just yells and screams at each other, no ones civil anymore"

and my question is - how do you personally cope living in a world that is openly hostile towards you, a world where kindness,, trust, loyalty, honor and morals don't exist ? a world where hedonism, materialism, nihilism, solipsism and decadence are the true kings ? or should we just detach ourselves from it and stop caring about anything and just let it rot because it doesn't matter anyways, at least this is what I tell myself.

In a very irresponsible way. I stick my head in the sand and avoid people where I can. Just try to stay in my own lane and console myself with the idea I won't have to deal with this forever. Plus, live in a fantasy world most of the time- with films, series etc. on in the background.

I do agree with you though. Even avoiding the news isn't enough to be oblivious to all that goes on and a lot of it is sickening.

I cope by spending time here, where a wide variety of people who may otherwise have nothing in common broadly manage to get along under the shared assumption that something is wrong, even if we don't understand, or can't agree upon, the exact nature of the something or the wrongness.

I think the world has already been this kind of place for a long time, but your particular representation of it is just a mix of the noise that circulates through the media. Sorry if it was rude, I didn't mean it that way.

Personally, I removed social networks like Instagram and recommendation based streaming services like YouTubea long time ago, and I feel more at peace after that. It helps me look at the world from a different perspective, though I'm not sure it's the right way to act, since it could be read as isolation, given that most interaction happens online.

Good movies, books, games, music and other art used to be kinder to people and brought a lot of hope to humanity. But even setting that aside, I still hold a fairly pessimistic worldview. The world is rotting alive, we are part of that process, and only the void lies ahead. The longer I live, the less human I feel, and I honestly can't find a way to cope with it.

The end result of the rotting is the same. Only the path differs. It can be suicide, empty existence, or a fierce will to do something. I'm not sure the path matters, or whether one is better than another. What I do know for sure is that thinking in isolation doesn't help. I would go further, thinking itself might be the root of the problem. We think too much. We think more than we talk to people. We think more than we do anything.

Maybe the best solution is to spend as little time as possible shut in an apartment, and most of your free time out in nature. To move to smaller towns, farther from civilization and closer to the natural world. Sure, there's a chance you end up in a Dogville, but at the end of the day, that's just a movie. Talk to people. I mean really talk, not imitate social interaction. Hold onto the will to do something that matters to you, something you would choose above anything else, like building a house in Minecraft or defeating a dragon. Or suicide. I'm not sure it really matters.
