How they treat suicidality on other websites

I find it terrible how suicidal people are treated on other websites/ forums. On a forum for people with mental disabilities they called me crazy and told me just to take my medication instead of spreading such absurd ideas. Moreover on a forum for psychotherapy they blamed me for my suicidality and judged me.They told me it was my fault my therapists gave me up and that i just don't want to get better. It was horrible.
SS has so much value. Here there is more compassion for suicidal people.
Do you have any experiences?

The thing that annoys me the most is when people just give the same old generic advice, eg: "itll get better", "you should try counselling/medication again, it might work this time", "you just need to stay positive" etc.

I used to talk about depression and suicide on REDDIT and I can't believe how mean some users were to me.
One of them told me something like "Only losers like you ctb. Your depression is an illusion".
I just couldn't believe my eyes!

I used to go on the tinnitus forum and I think that was the one good example of people being allowed to talk about that stuff, it wasn't banned or anything. Probably because suicidal thoughts are a rational part of the condition as some people on there had 80db tinnitus. But no place is better than SS. People will just become more isolated if that kind of talk is banned.

Back when I lurked through Reddit, I've heard that the Suicide Hotline guys sometimes put down your call or even put it on hold when you didn't finish venting. Is that true?

Though I'll say, I'm surprised you even got responses; as from what I've noticed - most peoples' voices tend to get ignored by the majority on the Depression/SuicideWatch subreddit. I wonder if you've reported the people calling you a loser for considering suicide.

Yess, I reported them but closed my account a few days later. I just didn't feel comfortable there.

If a persons depression is only an illusion, despite it also being a medical disorder, then by this logic a paraplegic who is resigned to a wheelchair must be under an illusion too. They are not really crippled; their loss of motor-function is simply because they are not thinking positively - obviously.

Also why did this individual feel the need to call you a loser? What do they think you are losing to - societies artificial game? Every living organism that we know of dies given enough time, so in that sense we all lose in the end.

people already call others (usually men) losers if they couldn't, or don't want to find a mate or company. it's a shaming mechanic that most people would rather use than respect the other party's decision; just because they, quote-unquote, "doesn't understand why anyone would do that". no wonder i don't like people (well, "normies") as much

First web-site I tried: Got told this is a pro-life suicide forum and it's against the rules to discuss methods. (What next? A pro-starvation cooking forum where it's against the rules to discuss how to cook?!) Then got told off/discouraged from asking someone how they'd attempted to kill themselves to help myself find out how not to do it. Then had my usage of the forum restricted despite having not broken any rules since I found out we weren't allowed to discuss methods. Then something mysteriously went wrong with the forum and I couldn't even pm the person I'd asked about her failed suicide attempt anymore.

2nd web-site: replied to a post clearly asking whether there were other forums where we could discuss how to commit suicide, by telling him about this one and the forumjar one. Got moaned at for doing so by someone who claimed I'd been warned about doing so before. I'd never even done so before, never mind been warned about it. Then I killed myself, and was feeling awful afterwards, and went to post a message about it and found I couldn't post any messages anymore; just when I really needed some support! So obviously they didn't care about helping and supporting people. I never received any explanation of why I couldn't post messages anymore.

3rd web-site: Posted a message asking how to kill myself. Had my account suspended due to the content of some of my posts. I'd only ever written one! So that was a blatant lie. Got absolutely no response to any of my messages asking the moderators about it. And was never allowed back on the forum.

I'd checked the rules of at least one (both as far as I remember) of the 2nd and 3rd ones and it said it was OK to discuss suicide.

Only safe space I know is r/TimeToGo and there are so little people + it's so ridiculously moderated + it's quarantined by Reddit and accessing it is a pain, you might as well write a post in your phone's Notes app and delete it

It is this exact logic which is preventing the world from becoming a better place.
Most people just want quick short term-solutions to long-term problems.
Kind of ironic though coming from a depressed suicidal person (pointing at myself) that just want to end it all
