Yes, I am ordering from a source based in China, as I haven't come across any US based sources that don't seem like blatant scams.
Even though there doesn't seem to be a law that 100% makes selling sn illegal, a lot of chemical manufacturers limit selling high purity versions of anything remotely dangerous unless you are part of a company/school/organization and can give a reason why you need it. A lot of the news articles about people trying to sue Amazon and eBay and other places over selling sodium nitrite and other similar compounds (which really is just people wanting someone to blame) probably makes manufacturers and suppliers in the US much more cautious.
