I will be 29 in December and it is freaking me out. I have wasted half my life doing nothing because I was too scared to do anything. The thought of being 30 is too much. This alone gives me so much anxiety never mind my countless other problems.

25. Although I feel like I've lived through an entire centuries worth of pain and suffering. Living with debilitating mental illnesses will do that to you I guess.
I'm 47. I can say out of exprience that it doesn't matter if you've wasted your 20s. However, you should make sure not to waste your 30s, because when you reach 40 things start getting really difficult to change.
Isn't that funny?
I have often seen the longevity of modern man cited as an example of this being the best time to be alive, as if unnaturally old age is something to aspire to.
Ask anyone over 80 if they enjoy being that age, no matter how (comparatively) healthy they are; the answers will be uniformly negative.
I would greatly prefer to live in a world were the average life expectancy was 50 years.
