I used to almost daily even when I had a gf. This has drastically reduced since depression and my ctb plans started becoming more "real".
I have a theory that if I don't engage with this activity I will have more testosterone to help me overcome SI. Is there any science to back this up?

I never masterbated in my life. Your theory isn't true or at least not entirely true because SI has been a great obstacle to me in the past. Hope it won't be in the future.

Huh, I have a preconception that someone with a sexual partner would masturbate less often that someone who'd like to have a sexual partner but doesn't have... I have no answer to your question though.

Yeah I don't know what was wrong with me. Maybe I was already depressed back then but just wasn't really aware of it and had a porn addiction or soemthing..

Feels kinda weird saying it out loud but (through the internet anyway) but I masturbate every night. It's the only time I get any release of those happy chemicals and it also helps me sleep.

If I don't I just stay up all night thinking of how and when I will ctb.

I masturbate more when I have a girlfriend.
I'll masturbate thinking about the sex I'm going to have, then have sex, then masturbate thinking about the sex I just had. I'm much hornier when I've got a willing partner close at hand.

Usually just when I'm ovulating and my hormones make me horney.

I think actually it's the other way round, the more sexually active you are the more your testosterone increases. So wank away if you can.

Is that true that women get hornier closer to ovulation for reproductive reasons?
Sound advice btw, i suppose you just gotta rock out with your cock out.

I sure it must be. There's always more happening down there at that time of the month I know when I'm ovulating as they hurt a little bit. Well usually just one side each month but sometimes both.
Am I sharing to much?!

Sorry just read the bottom question.
No because your not being graphic just explaining stuff. If you started telling us your blood group that would be a bit different lol
It sure beats a load of men talking about pulling their plonkers.

Again, my routine is to do it once a day to stave off prostate cancer.

Though for the past three days I have been too heartbroken to do it at all... :/

Now that's a personal question if I've ever heard one...

formerly a lot, but now very little. I can go several days without rubbing one out unintentionally. That's when you know you're at rock bottom.

Rate when I was most mentally healthy: Once a night. Rate when I was at my 2nd worst: 6 times a day (mostly anxiety.) Rate when i am at my absolute worst: 2-5 days without (mostly depression.)

Chronic masturbation is not really a good thing imo. sure, it staves off prostate cancer but it'll crash your test levels. The optimal rate is once a week (7 days) for maximum T-levels.

Maybe once or twice a week. It's more like fulfilling a biological need like hunger/thirst than fueled by any desire or whatever.

As far as I am concerned, to some extent. Your testosterone seem to increase for a few days once you stop masturbating, but it estabilizes to normal levels after some time. But that's something I read back in 2016, maybe more research has been done since.

T levels naturally rise during masturbation and sex, and fall to normal levels after orgasm. Ejaculating from masturbation doesn't have any noticeable, direct effects on serum T levels, however. This means that T levels don't get lower the more you masturbate

published in 2001 found that refraining from masturbation for three weeks may cause a mild increase in T levels. Another studyTrusted Source from 2003 found evidence that T levels may increase by nearly 150 percent seven days after you've stopped masturbating.

their is a few conflicting reports!!

Well, responding the main question of the thread... highly variable, but I follow a pattern similar to this: I may do it 5 times one day, spend three or four days without even thinking about it, then I do it once per day for a week, I then consciously choose not to do it for a few more days...

All animals have a mating (ejaculation) season for a reason, only humans like to ignore basic truths in their self-worship. When in season though yes that's a fine rate once or twice.

For the sake of science and death maybe try to whack one out and see if that helps your SI?

Back when full suspension was my preferable method, I attempted a few times to use the pleasure component of masturbation to counteract SI, just how some people accidentally die from autoerotic asphyxiation. I noticed that the more intense pleasure I experienced, the more pressure I could put on my neck.
