I think I would do it if I got money for it. Russian Roulette style. People other than me could definitely use the money.

Otherwise I think it's a rough method. Also we're talking a lot of money for me to go out in that fashion.

I would pay a heafty price too, I think. I would like a peaceful end but there's something very quick and final about using a firearm. No AE regimen, nasty tasting solutions, possibly suffering (SN) etc.

That said, every method has its outliers, firearms included.

I would say a 50bmg rifle, remote trigger. about 5-10m center mass. Don't think anyone is going to be an outlier in that case. I've seen cheaper 50s around $2000.

CTB by firearm is a good method if you know what you're doing, if you miss you'll likely be left disfigured and disabled for the rest of your life.

Always struck me when I saw The Deer Hunter for the first time and they were playing Russian roulette. The look of detachment from reality that the main character had when he was pulling the trigger each time was the only way I could imagine that the mind has to be when doing it for real. I guess that's the same for many of the instantaneous ways to ctb though.

Since I got trapped in a psych ward in 2019, I am not legally allowed to own/operate a gun in the state I'm in until my 31st birthday. If, by some circumstance, I were able to circumvent this I would probably spend as much money as it costs to attend a gun show and get like some sort of cool looking .45 revolver.

Wish I lived in the states to buy one under my name, all legal. But in Europe no way. Even the street police in London were forbidden a few years back to carry one gun. All they have I believe is pepper spray and plastic cuffs. If I'm wrong please someone British please correct me.

A gun is not my chosen method. I would much rather have N. I want to exit this world peacefully and a peaceful death is what I deserve.

To be honest I don't think I'd want to do it to my family/loved ones. Selfishly I think about the instant nature of it but when I really think it out, I don't want to hurt my loved ones. I at least want to minimise their pain and grief. Part of me wishes something will just take me out. Like a heart attack or something of that nature which happens quickly. At least that would be natural causes and mitigate a lot of the issues around self ctb.

In the old days, suicides by gun were officially a "gun cleaning accident" to spare the families the stigma of suicide, and for the insurance money. Denial is strong.

I'm terrified that I would screw up and be disfigured for life.

Nothing - I'd rather get the money together and pay for the gold standard.
You mean injectible 400mg/ml N? That you can't get for any price. Only way is to break into a veterinary clinic and steal some from a locked safe, Oral poisons are far from the "gold standard." They have been around since ancient Greek times. Modern injectibles are really the gold standard - best we can get easily is H. Really sucks...

I used to consider ctb via firearm. But I'm even more risk averse now than I used to be. The method is not for me. If I had a gun around all the time, I might use it if I had a brief moment of bravery. But if one just popped into my hands right now, would I use it? No way.
that's one in a million
Well, it's not that unlikely. I agree that most people don't have such complications. But, knowing my luck, I would be one of the unlucky few.
