I think it depends on the person, ive seen dead bodies and given cpr to dying people and it didn't really have that much effect on me. Saying that, they weren't unexpected so maybe it would have more of a traumatising effect if it was a shock

The way that I see it, death is the most normal thing and we all have to die somewhere, someday. If people get upset by finding a body then that cannot be a concern to the person who has died as they will be unable to experience everything, once one loses consciousness everything ends for them.

I worry about what it would do to my family. My community are a judgmental bunch. There's also them being questioned & investigated by the authorities.

Well, I think it depends of the person, this because if you're found dead and who finds you never expected you to CTB then it will have a strong impact at finding out or seeing this by itself.
Now, if someone maybe saw comming suicide, I still think it'll be hard, but not as shocking as in the first case.

Also may depend on how much affection/attention they had towards you.

If they're parents, and they're also humans, not sociopathic or nacissistic breeders, it would tramatize them for what's left of their lives. Is there anywhere else available? Also, would your problems be solved by moving out? I ask, because sometimes this is true. Sometimes.

Depends on who finds it. A grown adult police officers finding your body is probably your best bet for not traumatizing someone. Try not to have a family member discover you, especially if your method is gruesome. I've thought of sending a delayed email by a few hours to the police department so they will be the first to find my body.

I can only speak for myself and it wouldn't traumatize me at all. Everyone is different though. And I would think it would depend on who finds you and "how" the body is. For example, for a parent finding their child dead, it could be very traumatic. For a cop finding a body, not so much, unless it's a small child, then it might be traumatic. It just depends on the circumstances. If someone shoots their self, and brain matter is scattered all over the place, that might be very traumatic for someone who (under "normal" circumstances) wouldn't have a problem finding a "normal" body.

I'd say it depends on the method and the relationship to the person who finds you. I'd never attempt at home and risk traumatising any of my family even though I'd rather die in bed with my blankets etc. I'm planning to CTB asap I just need to try get some SN or something, I'll probably be found by emergency services. I'm sure it's still not easy for them but I'd rather people trained in it find my body

It depends. I'm a paramedic, I see dead bodies on a regular basis but some still hit a nerve. If it reminds me of a loved one or the persons life story is sad or if it's very traumatic then it can still affect me. I have colleagues who are affected by every dead body they see. It all depends

I appreciate that you differentiate human parents vs abusive parents here. It's hard to be bothered by the idea of my family finding me because the stress they cause me is part of why I want to ctb. Without the pressure and unpredictable rage coming from them, I could possibly heal from the trauma that led me to lose my independence and move in with them.

I think if they knew you personally then yes traumatising or if they aren't used to see people who have passed

I could care less. When I'm dead I'm dead. I have no relationship to the people around me. If it's a stranger, it won't affect them and if it's EMS or Law Enforcement, they see this stuff everyday they become numb to it.

depends on who it is and what the method is. the more graphic the method, the more likely itll traumatize someone. if a family or friend finds it, same thing. im not on close terms with my family, but i would never want my siblings to find me like that. parents eh. but kids, absolutely not.
