I usually never drank more than a couple beers a week and only got really drunk once a month. Now I kinda wish I drank more, I mean why did I even care about the state of my liver in 40 years??! Always gave me a much needed break from my overactive mind.

Just ordered some vodka in case I need it for SI and maybe have some fun while waiting for the final hour.

I can drink anywhere from a 26 (750ml) to a 40 (1.14l) of vodka a day, depending on when I started drinking, how well I eat, and if I got money. If I got the money I can go on a 5-7 day bender drinking like that before I need a day off.

Alcohol has always been my favorite out of everything I tried.

None, as it aggravates dissociation. Besides, I think alcohol is pretty boring.

Way more than I should. On average I'll drink a half to a full pint of alcohol (70 proof) and then put away about 4 16oz beers. This is daily.

I can't really drink it anymore tbh. Sometimes I wish I could still drink. I want to basically be in a stupor to forget the misery for a bit. I know alcohol won't help, but it's so tempting. :/

I used to be what I think now days is called a "binge drinker", didn't drink during the week for the most part, but one or two weekends a month I'd just get plastered. These days I rarely drink at all, maybe a brandy or rum once or twice a month. Seems like as I've gotten older the effect isn't as enjoyable, and I usually just fall asleep. Guess my party is just pooped out. These days I much prefer weed when I can get it, which unfortunately isn't very often.

Yeah, I'm not proud. But this is how I've managed to cope with my illness. Nothing else seems to help.

I drink beer vodka and recently whiskey.

beer and vodka I don't have problem but whiskey I had to pace it.
Few years ago I drank half a 1 litre in a few hours, regretted it pretty bad the following day.

Left it alone for years as I usually drink beer or vodka but recently went back on bourbon.

to answer the question,
I don't drink enough.
It'll be enough to numb me slightly,
But I know nothing will save me based on current situation,

not cigarettes, not alcohol,
Not gambling,

I needed hope but it's the hardest thing to find.

sucks but it is what it is.

Before my failed CTB attempt:

LOTS. I drank every single day and even though the hangovers sucked, I loved it!

After my failed CTB attempt:

I'm not allowed to drink alcohol or have any kind of freedom anymore. It sucks but I'll play the nice guy so as to enjoy at least alcohol in this shitty life until I finally CTB.

A bottle of wine, once a week to decompress. I used to drink like an Irish Catholic priest. I'd get wasted before I went out, even more wasted all evening, then continue when everyone else had gone home. I ended up in some odd places. Later, I stopped that kind of stuff and just had a few beers once a week.
But 30 years of that have destroyed me, wrecked my metabolism, digestion, loads of stuff. That's why I'm here. Chronic illness and the MH issues that go with it, all down to alcohol abuse, bad diet and probably trying to compensate with SSRIs.

I prob drink too much for a women, but I have no idea, I can take or leave drink, but when I do drink, I know I don't know when to stop, but then when you don't suffer hangovers I never actually learn and just keep going.
Got fucked on Monday, tonight is my first drink since then, My only issue is when I do drink I can't sleep, my sleep is unsettled anyway, but drink intensifies that, my husband likes to make a big sing and dance about not drinking, big fucking whoopty if he likes the attention on not doing so, But id rather be happy drunk, then a attention seeking sober whatever!

out of interest what do you regret?
Having no other option.
I reached a point in my early life where I didn't want to live with myself or how the world was. Existential depression. I tried everything I could and the only thing that helped in any way was booze.

I learned that you will take any deal when it's the only one on the table.

I regret that I felt I had no other option and it's steered the course of my life and ruined my health. I should have been stronger, maybe, but I still don't know how else I could have played it.

I'm not a fan of alcohol, it's not calming to me but instead making me want to be super active and gives me some sort of aggressive confidence (but only when it comes to interacting with others).
Plus I have several alcoholics in my family so that always kept me from drinking any.
But I see it's appeal and if it makes a person feel more relaxed and overall better I say - go for it.

I also wished I'd been more experimental and tried different drugs besides weed.

my body does not react too well to alcohol as I get older. I go for the bottle of whiskey when I feel really shitty which happens couple of days a week.

Interesting mindset, I am at the point of, when I drink, I don't rip my arms to shreds, when I drink, I am bouncing round the kitchen happy as shit, I go to bed, I don't sleep, I don't get a hangover and I wake the next day with no interest in drinking again, not in a way of because of the after effects, but generally doesn't cross my mind.
I have no idea what makes me pick up the bottle again, I just do a few days later, though if its in the house I am less likely too. If I am in a supermarketand none is at home, Ill buy it go home and 9 times out of ten will down it within a few hours.

I know its prob having an effect on my health but bar weight gain, I don't give a fuck,
I have so much respect for you and the way you have handled it to now not drink, in some way's I wish I could be like that, but in other way's I know its when I am at my most relaxed, though I talk a lot when I do.... talk a lot is not always a good thing

I don't think I'm a typical drinker. I also used it to self medicate over the years, even after my heavy drinking days. I'd have just enough, once a week to iron out all my annoying personality kinks: social anxiety, OCD, depressive tendencies. Not only did it work better than anything else, the effect actually lasted a whole week somehow. Just knowing I had Friday to chill out allowed me to manage everything all the rest of the week. It was like a reward, to have one evening without any mental angst at all. Now THAT is addictive.
I still do drink. A bottle of wine on a Saturday night. Same principle. And I know it's hurting me and I hate that. But without it... I don't know. I've spent thirty years and tried everything else I can think of. It's not like I haven't tried.

It is hard, despite knowing you on this forum, I don't know much about you, I have personally only been like this for the past 18 months, I had a point where I was drinking at 10am but I was home alone then, since this the first UK lock down, I have not been left alone at all, and that stops me drinking to the extent I was, in some ways that's a good thing, but in other way's I struggle with the guilt trip that I get given that comes with it. I don't want to go into that here though as this is the public section of the forum!

I probably drink on average 12 beers or 1 liter of liquor every other day. That's about to stop though, I'm burnt out on it and I'm about to attempt to either drastically scale back or quit.

I never drank until the evening, 'cept long ago at uni. Oh and at the 2000 Eclipse where I started at 8am on gin & tonic, but that was meant to be The Apocalypse, so it doesn't count.

I think it is always good if you can avoid the booze, BUT you have to replace it with something. It's no good simply abstaining; the things that make you want it are still there and then it is torture. I personally think if you can fill the space with something more rewarding then it may lose it's appeal. Maybe. Maybe not LOL I dunno. I have nothing to replace it with.

Anyway, my PMs are always open.

On average, I'd say something like 14 beers a week. It's usually a sixpack in two separate days.
