Discussion How many people do you personally know who died and what methods did they use?

I've lost too many ppl in real life - 2 hangings, 1 overdose, 1 by antifreeze, and 3 others i don't know the specifics. As for online, theres been 2 but I know theres more to come in the coming months. Both were sn I believe.

In 2010, one of my supervisor used a helium+ gas mask contraption to kill himself successfully.

Two people I know IRL CTB this year.

1. An active member of this site who took SN. Failed an attempt, admitted to hospital, successful immediately after being sent back home.
2. An unknown, intentional, drug overdose. Profession had access to chemicals & medicine so I assume they had an easy access to quite peaceful methods.

I hope they both have found peace from their suffering.

In the late 90s, my mom shot herself in the temple/head with hand gun I'm pretty sure but she survived and then about a year later did it again but not sure what kind of gun and it was still to her head but I think it was not the temple again but apparently she got decapitated. I was too young to know the specifics but horrifying. And I know her mom/my grandmom also committed suicide and I think it was ODing. & I knew of someone who did it by a car crash.

I think me replying to a few goodbye threads from users that still have not returned doesn't count - so only one. He intentionally overdosed a drug and to this day I don't know which one it was.

He was super afraid of his decision, texted me while I was asleep, sadly still died before I could even reply to that.

The sun shined in his local area the next day, in my culture that implies they died with no regrets. I hope he is relieved now.

I don't know them personally, when I was a child living in my grandparents' place, one of the neighbors committed suicide by drinking pesticide.

Was very young, not allowed to be near the scene. People who did said it looked messy and painful.

What methods did they use? How long ago was it?

a family friend OD'd on her meds (i don't know what meds she took exactly. most likely psych meds.). this happened around 2012, i believe. she struggled with the same mental illness as me (body dysmorphia). unlike me though, she really was beautiful but couldn't see it :(

i also have relatives who hanged themselves, but i never met them personally since they did it before i was born.
