I'm the same, 25 and with my parents but they don't know about my previous attempt, they're always at work or don't really bother with me when they're not, so it makes planning not too hard.

I feel trapped at home, but I guess I shouldn't complain because I don't pay rent and I'm getting free meals...

Doesn't stop me feeling like a bit of a failure though (!)

I have no idea how I'd CTB with my parents around. Doing it in the house is definitely off the cards.

Yep. Im 23 and living with my mother after living indepdantly for 4 years I had to come back due to homelessness. I exhausted all shelters and assisted living options and never made the changes I needed to and was never able to find a stable place. I'm useless when it comes to actually living.

I'm 26 and live with my parents. I recently got off a temporary job and now I'm doing nothing. I feel like shit and pressured to do something about my life. I have no passion on anything and don't like life. I also got a talk from my mom and sister about my future a few days ago. Good intentions to "help me figure out options" from their perspective but I felt like I was pressured to do something. One reason for me to ctb is so that I don't become a burden to my family because I'm a useless, worthless wretched pile of shit. :)

Basically I don't see any future worth living so at this point it's a challenge to see how long I stay alive.

Education, money, work, network, asking the right people for help about getting out of a certain situation ... not really psychotherapy, but to help see/get options you don't see/fidn a way to push through. often our greatest obstacles are mental.

How are you forced to stay ? Hopefully not physically ? You must resist emotional blackmail/guilt trips.

I have no friends or social circle either. (That's just one of my many unsolvable problems). I hate most people anyway. This has obviously led to problems with women too. It's just been a recurring trend in my life and I'm tired of it. I am a natural recluse and that has been clear despite 25 years of faking it.

I'm 20 and living with my parents. They leave me alone for the most part (and are pretty oblivious) and I get free rent/food/etc., so I can't complain.

I plan to ctb somewhere away from home, unless I end up blowing through ALL of my saved up money beforehand, in which case, at home it is. The fact that I live at home makes ctb more expensive, more complicated (because it requires more planning), and if I end up doing it at home, there's an extra layer of guilt on top of everything else.

Well, congrats on making it through the waiting period and getting in! I've only just applied to waitlists, which are estimated at 3-7 years. They are lovely places. Too bad I will not be here long enough to move into one! (I guess; oh well, in the end.)

I am nearly 32 and live with my mom. I haven't been able to work due to mental illness, and am on disability.

It definitely influences my plans, as I have to hide things and choose a time when everyone is out of the house. That extends my current waiting period from 3 days to 9 days. Those 9 days are feeling very long.

I personally prefer to ctb at my mom's because it's better to be found relatively quickly, once it's over.

Sometimes I think I would feel better about myself if I was working and supporting myself, but i'd probably be even more miserable. At least I still have some hope I'll complete my degree (lol just kidding, i'm hopeless)

Almost 30, living with my mom and a stepdad who says racist and sexist shit and saw several nooses and ropes in my room and didn't bother trying to stop me. They both work all the time and my sister has a full time job while I ended up quitting mine so if I wanted to I could ctb in my room and they probably wouldn't notice for like a day til my corpse starts to smell.

I'd prefer not to tbh, but since I feel like someone might call the police on me if I try to find a good tree to hang myself with it might be my only option.

All excellent suggestions with potential to turn one's life around. However, what if you're too ill to do and enjoy those things anymore? I've found that doesn't leave you with much and few people want to be around someone who is chronically ill.

I wish so badly I could get on a list for something like that. I keep trying, but the bureaucratic red tape is overwhelming. Trying to get through all that while you're ill is quite a challenge. On Monday, I meet with an advocate. I'm hoping I can get some more help there.

I am on SSI and on several waiting lists for Section 8 housing -- I hope I can get an apartment before Mom passes away. I would like to be able to successfully live on my own before I ctb.

Right on! Or trying to compensate for the guilt they feel because they know they're the main reason why one is suffering so much. I wish people thought a lot more about having children before actually doing so.
