With all the methods out there, how many of you are deciding to go with full or partial hanging? I personally think that partial hanging is one of the best methods available because hanging generally is a very proven CTB and compared to many other methods out there, such as CO and Nitrogen, it is much easier and cheaper to do.

However, there seems to be a decent amount of effort required to find the correct spot & find somewhere to CTB. Some people also claim it can be quite painful, especially if you miss the arteries.

With all that in mind, do you think partial hanging is a good way to CTB? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

My preference is certainty over pain. The hangs I've seen people pass out very fast with a properly placed rope in full suspension hangings.

Your body will go into convulsion but you are already gone. I am sure it entertains the crowd but you are already on the road to dead.

My method will be partial hanging. Even tho I'm a pussy when it comes to fear and pain, but full suspension will not be comfortable. My ideal way would be ingesting N and slowly falling asleep in my bed, forever.

It is a famous method for a reason, it has a high death rate and low pain, so it's easier for people scared to ctb, and doesn't have much time for you to back out after you start.
Edit : I'm not planning on doing it, I'm more of chemicals person.

I'm thinking of buying some rope and hanging at some point. Hopefully it will be fast.

There's a drop chart you can find online when it comes to hanging for ctb it's important to get your hight and weight then look at the chart it will tell you how many feet/meters you need to properly do it

I'm almost certain I'm going with full suspension hanging, SI would give me too much trouble if I tried partial and I refuse to fail at my attempt, it's a reliable method if you have a good anchor point and a good rope
hopefully I will have everything important set, like goodbye letters deleting accounts etc. so I really don't want to fail

full hanging, but partial also works. i've been watching suicide videos in order to prepare myself and it's definitely a method i'm leaning toward.

Same I initially was going to do CO or N but partial seems like its much easier to pull off although maybe a little less peaceful. Less supplies needed.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that hanging is the most common method among completed suicides. And I bet a large part of that is partial for the reasons you've stated.

I knew two people personally who ctb this way. One used a necktie in his closet and the other from the rafters in her garage. To finally shed my disease ridden mortal coil I'm leaning towards partial, though I'm also entertaining a nitro exit bag.

Im considering hanging and SN. I would rather do SN but if i can't get my hands on it for any reason then i'd go with hanging, i like the idea of dying immediately if you do it correctly (full suspension hanging) then you wouldn't have to panic and be in pain because of SI. Partial is also good too but it might be hard to find something high enough or low enough for your preferences. Good places for full suspension could be some pull up bar and some place for partial could be a coat hanger (if its mounted into the wall well, though) anything that is strong enough or that you could tie a rope or anything that would be used for hanging is a perfect place to do it.

I'm considering it. It just seems faster and less painful than some other methods. In an ideal world I'd be able to get SN, or N, but I can't, so hanging is up there as a preferred for me. If not hanging then I'd SWB

I'll take certainty over some brief pain as I know the pain will end soon.
It seems like hanging is my only option, don't have access to a gun or SN which I would have preferred. I've considered jumping but I worry SI will kick in. Partial is appealing but can't wrap my brain around the process, seems like a lot of people have trouble finding the right spot. I will be using full suspension but the drop is short and worries me.
You're right, it does involve a lot of effort with finding a location- been in search for months, learning to tie knots- still practicing every day, and getting access to a rope that I know won't break. My spouse is a tyrant and controlling, can't buy anything online for this so I'm left with big box and hardware stores in the US for getting a rope. Then of course is all the fear that I won't do it right. I have the benefit for the next several weeks that my spouse is away so doing it at night ensures nobody will be trying to get in touch with me for many hours and potentially being found mid process. The downside is (and if I'm overthinking this and don't need to worry, please correct me) if I do it wrong, I'll be left hanging there for 10 hours or more in agony until my spouse suspects something and is able to reach someone to come check on me.

Do you think the Mega thread for hanging is the most helpful resource on partial hanging here, is there anything else you recommend here?

Yeah I think SN or N would be preferred but N is illegal and I can't get my hands on an anti-emetic. So I guess the rope it is

Partial has problems that seem to be very individual based on your setup, physiology and level of commitment. It is not that easy.
Full takes more commitment to start but once you are suspended, it all goes quickly.

I've been looking at multiple ways out and partial hanging seems to be the best way out but it's very situational. You need to have a private place for at least 30 minutes and something that can hold your weight. Hanging should only be used when there is no other way out. For me, getting SN is impossible to get, I can't get the tourniquet method to work and SWB doesn't seem really peaceful. Luckily I live close to a forest, so this is the best way out. As for the pain, It's quick so I don't have to worry about it for long.

Most likely doing full suspension. Already have the noose set up and hidden in the woods, just need to bring the bucket.

If you really want to go full is my recommendation I mean why leave any room For Error takes about 7 seconds to go when it's a blood choke and a bit longer with an air choke so with that being said it's probably best find a place secluded if found within I'd say 5mins you could have permanent brain damage.

I'll most likely go with partial suspension, or full suspension if partial fails.

i don't have access to literally any tools or buying stuff to cbt, so hanging seems the best method considering it's quick, certain and easily improvised.

i think its the only way for me. Its too risky trying to buy SN in the uk. Ive kind of got my plan sketched out - its just when i get the balls to do it

I'm considering it cause it's the only fucking method left for me to try cause I can't get any SN or medication to od on and I'm pissed about it. Don't wanna hang myself but don't wanna live anymore
