I know I am. I know I feel like women have a done a number on me. But the thing is they haven't. The thing is we are just another animal on this stupidly habitable planet we call Earth. Us losers stood little chance. We were beta males watching TV shows of beta lions getting put in their place by twattish alpha lions. And the females pitied the beta lions who got wounded or fucked up or died without getting laid. And then shagged the alpha lions, regardless. For this is the kingdom of the beautiful people and I say good luck to them.

I just wish society would be more honest about it.

It's true that us humans are literal animals and our society ruthlessly mirrors nature. The fact that people still try to excuse human behavior as being the product of anything else is silly.

Totally agree in ways, beautiful post. But I think our spieces pairs off a bit more than that - for every beta male there's a beta female? I'm just coming out of my 30s and people start settling ahhem down lol.

It's true that us humans are literal animals and our society ruthlessly mirrors nature. The fact that people still try to excuse human behavior as being the product of anything else is silly.

They might mirror animals to some extent but human beings have the ability to reason and choose up to a point but most people are extremely selfish and don't care how their actions affect others. People still choose to be greedy, materialistic, to trample on one another and to use each other like inanimate objects for personal gain. Chalking up human behavior as purely a product of biology absolves people of responsibility for their actions, much like psychiatry tries to label people as "mentally ill" to discredit people or to absolve them of responsibility for doing awful things.

"When and why do we attribute a person's behavior to brain disease, and when and why do we not do so? Briefly, the answer is that we often attribute bad behavior to disease (to excuse the agent);never attribute good behavior to disease (lest we deprive the agent of credit); and typically attribute good behavior to free will and insist bad behavior called mental illness is a "no fault" act of nature."Thomas Stephen Szasz, Cruel Compassion: Psychiatric Control of Society's Unwanted

^You're right^

Humans actually had the choice to be the twats that they chose themselves to be (and are surprised that their civilization might not last forever?)

One more quote I wanted to add:

"The concept of disease is fast replacing the concept of responsibility. With increasing zeal Americans use and interpret the assertion "I am sick" as equivalent to the assertion "I am not responsible": Smokers say they are not responsible for smoking, drinkers that they are not responsible for drinking, gamblers that they are not responsible for gambling, and mothers who murder their infants that they are not responsible for killing. To prove their point — and to capitalize on their self-destructive and destructive behavior — smokers, drinkers, gamblers, and insanity acquitees are suing tobacco companies, liquor companies, gambling casinos, and physicians." ―Thomas Stephen Szasz

If it makes you feel any better this particular issue is not a problem for me and I still want to CTB, and i know many others who want to CTB despite having a lot of luck in this aspect.

Basically you're telling him

"hey you're suicidal but even if you had what you wanted you would still be suicidal"

Good job.

You are right 100% but it is an unfortunate reality. I've seen or heard of many who CTB over the years who had everything the dominant paradigm tells people they should go after.

More men between 18 and 30 kill themselves than any other demographic put together iirc. But ofc there's no genocide going on, just be positive and rot alone for all of your life in a society that hates you and I'm sure you'll be fine

I just have to forgive bad behaviour to stand living here. Who knows, maybe it's just a comfortable space to forgive myself. And I don't 'forgive' rapists etc but the truth is mothers who kill their babies do have divergent neurology and/or upbringing etc, bad behaviour is predictable, actually expected; there's no sense in getting mad with an animal for bad behaviour, you just try to modify its behaviour. The animal is just doing what it's evolved to do, and suffers just the same as us. I do have some love for the natural world, and here it helps me see humans for what they really are

About 50/50 actually

Edit: 50/50 for gender that is. The age breakdown is a bit more mixed, with the biggest cohort being 18-21 with 23.4%. Which actually kinda breaks my heart tbh.

I'm 22 and a guy. In my country it's estimated that around 75% of all suicides are men, and 27.1% of deaths in guys under 35 are by suicide. I guess guys don't have the support structures or suppport socially that women tend to and so fall by the wayside more? Plus I think mental illness is judged more harshly in men, by both genders.

Me 27, closer to 30 than 20, depressing.
In just 2 months I would be 28 but I will not get there, how quickly the previous year passed...

Dude in my 30's, reporting in. I don't care about much anymore. The less I participate in clown world, the better I feel. Just quit my 40th job today, feels good. I'm ready to spend the next few months sitting around with no obligations, until I run out of money.
