It feels slightly selfish, but I'm not planning on scheduling any post-ctb messages. Mostly because if my attempt fails I don't want to forget to cancel them and there is no one in the world that cares about me. I'm also not working right now and my primary bills are on auto pay.

I was asking AI and I think my body will maybe be a skeleton before anyone comes checking when the bank account runs dry in months.

The only one the AI thought of is my mail box would start overflowing. I wonder if the post office would inform police or not. Otherwise there isn't a single person in the world who would be alarmed by my absence.

the smell would alert neighbors if you live in an apartment complex. usually how people get found. family might check on you if you live in the same city as them or talk to them regularly, or friends if you have anybody you talk with semi-frequently. since you're not working it might be easy to not be checked up on for a few weeks, since someone's boss or workplace is usually the first person who calls.

Its not selfish. How about scheduling the msgs for a week or more later, with a physical reminder to yourself somewhere at home to cancel them if you fail? I never trusted scheduled msgs enough to use, but have had to lose a few notes myself after failed attempts. It is brutal.

Do you live near anyone? Even people with no friends/family have been found after a week because of the smell. You can smell rotting humans through walls and, in some cases, half way down a street.

That might help people find you sooner as the smell of your rot could then be carried outside. I am not sure if that is your goal. It also very much depends on ambient conditions where you live. Obviously, if it's colder, it will take longer for you to decompose, and therefore people will have potentially less of a chance of smelling you.

It has been years in some cases after natural death. This was such a sad case. It took 3 years in this case. Even more weirdly/ amazingly- her TV was still on. You'd think someone would have noticed.

I'd say just take the autopay off. I personally don't want to give any of these corrupt companies and government any more money even after I die. You can have the money donated to whatever organization/charity you want.

When my father caught the bus in his apartment, it took a few days for neighbors to notice the smell, but nobody checked in on him. Similar story for my brother, but it took a little longer due to windows and doors being taped up. Someone might call a wellness check if your mail is piling up. I really would suggest scheduling an email, you can even just set an alarm to go off an hour before it is scheduled to send, that way you will be reminded of it. It's really not fair to the person who has to clean up your body to leave it decaying for a week+. Decaying bodies are putrid and hard to look at. Wishing you the best

I figure it could be months... probably whenever the bank sends someone to check on the home they foreclose on... there would be no otherwise people who would ever check in to see me.
