I'm planning on using this method when my parents is out to Costco, I will have about one hour. Is that long enough for me to die?

According to the PPH it takes 40 minutes to 4 hours. So your time frame is a bit risky I'd say.

I don't think it's a good ideas. But go to your room. Pretend you are sleeping. Maybe try to text them before that you are really tired and would not liked to be disturbed for a couple hours.

But I'll be making loud noises during the dying process, which will wake them. (Their room is next to mine and not soundproof)

Why not wear a gag? And if they did hear noises they might assume it's just some weirdo and not take much notice.

Do you think they'd hear you even if they're asleep?
Is renting a hotel room an option?

There's tons of factors too. Do you live in a large city with fast emergency response? Are you far from a hospital?

so, maybe they'll hear you, maybe not.
Maybe they'll call emergency services. Maybe it will be too late anyway if it takes 30 mins for EMS to show up after the initial call, then they need to figure out what's going on, get you in an ambulance, and then even more travel time to the hospital.

it's honestly too difficult for anybody to answer "do I have enough time". You make your gamble on your own terms.

that's what I would do too, but I can't. First I dont have enough money, second, my parents keep tabs on me , they wont just let me out of the house

Say you have a date with a girl? edit: or guy
this'll send them all in a tizzy, act like you've been friends for ages but she asked you over to watch movies. Dunno if that'll work but maybe, depends on what kind of parent I guess

I'm not supporting the idea, but a less comfortable death is a small price to pay if there are no reasonable alternatives.

But for all they know, you could have met a girlfriend far more recently than they are aware. Also, why would they have any reason to object to you sleeping over with anybody? It shouldn't be any of their business what you do with your life.

Yeah I honestly think it could still work, say you were worried they'd be annoyed so you kept it quiet.

This makes me think we're dealing with a minor here.

I'm sure some of the resources on this forum and other places too will probably be able to answer this question, have a search around and if anyone gives you advice here, take with a massive dose of salt (somewhat ironic)
Remember just because something work one way for one person doesn't mean it work that way for you.
Be kind to yourself brother, I know you must be in a dark place to have this on your mind, have you reached out to anyone who you can trust for help?

I'm not a minor, my family is just conservative and over protective. I've had suicide attempts before, so they're on my every move. I live in an extremely small apartment and my parent's room is just next to mine, worst of all, the doors are not soundproof.

To choke on vomit is small?
More noise , distress & anxiety --> abort ctb.
Not "less comfortable" just stupid , sorry .

Better to think bit before suggestions

I plan on doing it in the woods, then there's no chance of anyone funding me till the "up to 8 hours" is over
Also I'm considering telling my tutor that I'm suicidal. She's really nice, and I know I need to get help for it. But do you know if they would have to tell my parents?

This is a tough one, since the law in my country is that if any Drs/lawyers (any confidential agreement) knows you are a danger to yourself or anyone else they are allowed to break the confidentiality. They might not if say I said I had no plans and weren't going to act on them. This is a hypothetical situation of course.

Don't .. We accept suicidal ideation . Regardless of the law , "normal" people do not .

They are alarmed by it . It's like telling her you are killing (another) person . She will be obliged to report if she is affiliated with or sponsored by a governmental organization in any way ; otherwise (private person) it is up to her discretion . However she will 'open the subject for discussion with you -- which can be good or bad .

Although I wrote "Don't" many members have told others . People who care get involved . This has resulted in either extra support , recovery , torture , arguments , understanding , etc . That "don't" is not a directive that should be accepted at face value -- but a suggestion to think about it . Up to you .

I think you should only tell someone if you want to be stopped. If you are absolutely serious about ending your life then I think sharing that with someone would be a mistake. You are putting a massive burden on that person and it stands to reason they would panic and try to stop you. So yes I absolutely think your tutor would tell your parents.
On this group we are so matter of fact about suicide and that's why I love it here. I don't feel like a freak. So many people just cannot deal with the notion that someone wants to end their life. I've tried to let my boyfriend know of my intentions over the last year . . . Nothing overt . . . Just gently trying to prepare him do that it's not a total shock and system overload when it happens. But he won't entertain it at all. He shuts the conversation down. I tried. Shrug.
I think generally trying to talk to people outside of groups like this about killing yourself and expecting them to get it doesn't pan out.
