Help How Important Is Fasting When It Comes To SN?

I know what the protocol says but what if I've had food and then something made me go like you know what fuck it and decided to take SN like would it be the worst thing ever or just make it harder to keep SN down? TBH I'm not even sure why fasting is a part of the protocol.
