I've been considering ctb via nyc subway, maybe by lying my head on the tracks to ensure instant ctb / unconsciousness.

My only worry aside from surviving is the stress that would put on train conductors and people around. I can't figure out another reliable ctb method though. What do u guys think ?

Fairly. It's a very public place so not only do you risk hundreds of people witnessing a particularly gorey death, you run the risk of someone interfering and being institutionalized.

Very.

From a selfish standpoint tons of people are going to be PISSED that they're late. I've never had to deal with NYC public transport, but from what I've heard in videos it already sucks. Having trains further delayed because someone decided to ctb is going to make a lot of people angry.

From a less selfish standpoint a lot of people see it as a fucked up thing to do because it's going to scar the conductors. The conductors are just people trying to do a job to make money and go home to their families. They didn't sign up to deal with the trauma and guilt of killing someone.

Some conductors are fucked up. I heard a conductor in the company I work for was recently arrested for kidnappings a 13yo kid and keeping her in his basement for years. But they are the exception, not the rule.

Today I was at work and a train went by and I thought 'well at least I know where I can go to find some train tracks,' but honestly thinking about it I don't think that's the way I want to go out. I don't want to hurt anyone else.

As for methods. I plan on eating apricot seeds. They have cyanide in them. You can easily find apricot seeds and bitter almonds on amazon for fairly cheap if you're ok with not having a peaceful death. Although if you're considering death by sub you're probably not too concerned with pain. Hanging is a relatively easy way. Depending on your circumstances. Rope is cheap and easy to get, the hard thing would be finding what you're going to tie off to. Not everyone has a good point to tie off to in their house and depending on your financial situation you may not be able to get to a forest. Also unless you're not a citizen, you're in the land of the free. 2a exists. As long as you're legally able to buy a gun that's always an option.

I'm not going to persuade you to not do it. If you've made up your mind I have to respect that, but I do want to encourage you to think about other options you may have. And to think about the people you may hurt by choosing ctb by sub.

You definitely wouldn't have time to get down there and lay your head down (prepare like that) without someone trying to intervene. I think most subway suicides are just impulsive jumps in front of the train as it roars into the station.

That aside, I agree with everything @usernamesarehard said. I also think it's quite a violent and painful-sounding way to go, even if the pain is just a few moments before you die.

Edited to add:

- also, the subway tracks are DISGUSTING. you might gag as you try to lay your head down there and be unable to do it. lmao.
- not sure how well the layout of the tracks allow for that, also
- lastly, would you be able to do it so publicly like that? although I guess you could go at a time when not many people are around. it would have to be the right station tho, some stations are always full. but yeah overall I'd say pls don't do it this way.

Well, depending on where you live, there may be consequences for the conductors of those trains. Where I live, if this scenario happens more than once, then the conductor is fired due to company policy. And that is of course not mentioning the trauma it may cause the driver.

However, if this is your only way out, then it is best not to pick a place along the tracks where the train slows, such as a station or particularly tricky terrain. If possible, choose somewhere the train speeds through.

Your remains will be scattered all over the tracks and train. Those close to you will think about that a lot.

Well, I'd guess it would be pretty much frowned upon by anyone (including the subway crew) who witnessed you being smashed into bits in a singularly horrific manner. Not to mention the workers who had to pick up pieces of your dismembered body from the tracks and clean flesh, blood and organs from the train itself.
So yes, I'd imagine you'd manage to annoy and distress quite a lot of folk.

I'd assume jumping on the tracks of a subway train about to stop at a station would have a higher survival rate than jumping in front of a fast moving train.

I think it's frowned upon if you don't have a valid ticket and call it catch the bus instead of catch the metro.

On a more serious note, there's videos of people jumping in front of it but i think a metro is risky as it slows down very quick.
