Hello, I plan on Ctb very soon .

I've been wanting to do this for years now, and i've finally came to the realization that i am ready.

How do i get rid of this instinctual urge to not do it as im getting close to CTB?

I was thinking , is suicide something you have to force yourself to do? Like you have to impulse yourself very hard?

Just need some tips on getting over the scared part of me, because i consciously know i want to do this.

Any help or tips are appreciated .

There really is no way to get rid of survival instinct, it's always going to be there. But it's also not some magical force that thwarts our best-laid suicide plans. It takes a lot of courage to go through with bringing oneself to end their existence. Gaining the courage is different for everyone. Personally, thinking of my family really gives me the courage to ctb, but for others it might have the opposite effect. Imo don't overthink it, thousands of people kill themselves everyday, and I doubt they were looking up ways to override their primal instincts to get the job done. At the end of the day, those who are serious about it will do it sooner or later. Don't stress out about it, if it needs to happen, it will happen at exactly the right time when you are truly ready. đź«‚

Drugs surely help with SI, 1/3 of suicides happen while under the influence of some drug.

For me it's giving myself permission to be impulsive. I have everything ready to go. If I'm impulsive it will over rule si in somewhere because you don't have time to think

So I have planned to be impulsive.

I wish I could just leave a noose up with a stool so I saw it everyday as I did my daily chores and the I'm sure I'd find the impulsive moment to do it

It's a question asked a lot that I love to see because I'm always interested in learning more potential answers.

From what I've read, anger and impulsivity are two common responses, but I doubt many people here know the true answer unless they attempted before
