I have the resilience and drive to withstand a lot and I have. But after peering into my future, I see more of the same agonizing struggle that never leads to where I want to be.

This is a very good question !
Maybe try to see suicide as finished life or as an emergency exit to avoid further pain. 🍀

I´m not saying this to encourage you to commit suicide. It´s just my general opinion.

Emergency exit is an interesting perspective.
I read about a guy who ended up paralyzed so he bit his tongue off in the hospital to avoid future suffering. I'm sure he didn't want to die but there wasn't much else at that point.

If you feel like living is "winning", then you will always look at death as "loosing".
For the truly aware, this holds no water. What do you win by living? Absolutely nothing! You get no trophy, no awards ceremony, nothing. However in death you gain peace and silence. You no longer have to deal with stress, anger, sadness, happiness, none of it. So for me I'd say if you are looking at this as a game of winning or loosing, death is the greatest prize you can ever receive.

I look at death as losing if you die before your decline in middle age.

This is an interesting question. It is difficult, I struggle with this.

Maybe
1) ctb is an active choice you are making, not just letting something happen to you and taking control of your life
2) it really isn't that easy to ctb it takes a lot of planning and a lot of mental will.
3) whether you feel like you have experienced enough in life, already achieved what u wanted to. It's not a failure if you lived the life u wanted, even if for a short while
4) have u made peace with things. Are u doing it with truly no regret let behind, that it's something you came to after a lot of self reflection and exploring all avenues like therapy etc before getting there. If you've truly tried your best I don't see how it can be a failure.
5) if you truly believed that non existence is the preferred state of being, then surely can't be a failure to achieve your preferable state
6) if while being alive you lived true to yourself and the decision u r making is also true to you

Maybe a few others need to think on it more

This is a pretty good question!

I could never see suicide as a failure as death is the final relief from all suffering someone had to endure. Further the decision for suicide is not immediately impulsive in most cases rather it's a long and mindful process until one is really ready for it.

What's the point of tenacity that doesn't lead anywhere or bear any fruit? I'm sure we all can withstand a lifetime of pain. Little is more human than that. Doesn't mean it's necessarily worth doing.

After all, suicide is a human right and none of us are obligated to continue enduring this existence that we were so cruelly and unnecessarily burdened with in the first place. I see suicide as being self care, it's the permanent relief and escape from all suffering, it's the prevention of meaningless suffering in an dreadful existence filled with harm where we are destined for nothing but to decay and die anyway. I could never see any benefit to existing, to me it's very futile and there is nothing to be gained by it, it just leads to more suffering and not existing would solve everything for me, I admire those who manage to free themselves from everything.

That's interesting. I always assumed people ctb because they couldn't handle anymore. so then many ctb knowing they can handle more but decide it's not worth it.
