How do children cope when their parent/parents CTB?

Hi guys, my question is as above.

I've held back from CTB because I cannot imagine what would happen to my 3+ year old son. His mother is doing ok financially but I'm just left wondering if he would feel anything different at such an age if I were to CTB.

It's no loss to him if he doesn't remember my passing at the age of 3, right?

I've been on some forums and some people who are in a similar situation say they only really felt the loss during their teenage years.

Any thoughts?

I think every person would cope differently to this. Some might not be able to cope at all. It's definitely a loss to him. That can't be denied. But your decision must be respected regardless. I haven't lost my parents to suicide, but my mom has attempted before, and talked about it multiple times. I know it's not the same as your potential situation, but yeah, I didn't want to lose her.
