Hello everyone, today I tried to do a partial hanging. I used a 3 mm (diameter) rope, with a slipknot knot located on the top of the neck above the adam's apple. I was in a kneeling position, one knee touching the ground. I was pushing down with all my might. So after about 10 seconds, I started having very strong cramps. I've had them before, but one limb used to shake weakly before, this time I was shaking so much that things fell out of the closet. My ears were blocked and I was so scared that I got up and tried to remove the rope. The cramps went on for about 6 seconds and during this time I couldn't even grab the rope, then when everything more or less passed, I carefully removed it. I have a strong red mark on my skin, which is very clearly visible and hurts.

The question is, how close was I? If I stayed, would I be dead? I just heard that some people lose consciousness in 4-5 seconds. In my case, I hung for about 10. And can the cramps be considered a good sign that I was doing everything right? Thanks in advance!

I'm too new to tell... But I saw rats be strangled in 60 seconds. So 10 seconds seem far to me. I read that executed criminals could survive 10 minutes... I was thinking of sitting comfy & try to fall asleep? If I need to use strength to make it efficient, then I'll restart breathing when I pass out. I was thinking of adding a bag with duct tape, but I don't know if I should put the rope under (seems best but the tape could prevent tightening) or above (the duct tape could prevent strangulation). People do auto etotic strangulation & die by accident... Maybe if I take benadril or finally accept sedatives (when in hospitals for physical injury they just want to shut me up & call me crazy even when I bleed... My reason to ctb) That could prevent my survival instinct from making life saving adrenalin "anxiety". I don't know how to do the knot or the best rope? I might do it in the bathroom so my corpse won't shit the floor... Or diapers? I bet my corpse will rot for months so I should limit the juices? Or revenge for not helping me improve air quality... Is the picture with kenny in southpark doable?

When hanging, people die not from suffocation (inability to breathe), but from a lack of blood in the brain. There are 3 main arteries in the neck that supply your brain (in the spine and on the sides of the throat). In case of incomplete hanging, the most important thing is to squeeze both carotid arteries as soon as possible and more strongly. When tightening, slipknot blocks almost all oxygen to the brain and the person almost immediately loses consciousness (4-15 seconds). With complete hanging, the vertebral artery is blocked, or the neck breaks altogether, which leads to an even faster loss of consciousness. As for whether it is possible to hang yourself like that, it depends primarily on the characteristics of your neck, for someone some methods work flawlessly, and for someone it does not work at all. I would recommend experimenting with the positions of the body. Position of the rope (above or below the Adam's apple). Type of rope (soft - scarf, sharp - shoelaces. for example). Well, of course you will have to push hard, otherwise your head will just turn red. You can experiment with squeezing the arteries with your hands to understand how it works

Shit... Can't I just drift asleep? I have to push hard with partial hanging?

Someone showed me an article of a paralyzed mute guy. So he broke his neck from full hanging & partial would prevent that?

Can't I just suffocate myself?

I don't think you can suffocate yourself. At least not with a plastic bag or such.

Your body and brain will fight the bag (or rope) restricting air intake unless it's properly placed to restrict blood flow to your brain and you pass out quickly.

Anyway:
The cramp may have been from you holding yourself off the ground and not allowing yourself to lay right into the rope. You would have to relax your body completely for partial hanging to be successful.

The more you engage your core muscles, the more your neck muscles are engaged and that leads to your arteries in your neck being "protected" by those neck muscles.

Look at an anatomical drawing and how your veins/arteries run next to your neck muscles.
If you tighten those muscles it's like a "bumper" or a "meat shield" protecting your arteries from the pressure of the rope.

The more I learn the more I realize I know nothing... You seem to know a lot, how are you still alive? I need more tips... If I pass out can I die that fast too? If I stop pushing once I pass out I'll restart breathing?

yeah I ask myself daily why TF I'm still here! LOL

i dabbled with partial a few years ago. That's how I know how difficult it is to achieve a painless and quick death with it.

It can absolutely work, but most often it does not. The sad thing is that it can work even if the person doesn't really mean for it to work.

Anyhow.

You shouldn't have to "push" at all. The idea of partial is that your body weight and gravity does the work for you. If you have to strain yourself and "push" yourself down, something in your setup is wrong.

Once you go unconscious you'll stop putting pressure on the rope and yes, you'd probably just wake up a bit later.

I gave up on partial at some point. Success rate is too poor and simply inconsistent while the risk of dying when you're not really ready is too high.

Hmm, I didn't know about this, thanks for the valuable advice. It's just that in general it's quite difficult to relax when most of the body presses its weight on the neck. In general, did you lose consciousness while trying? And in what position you did it? I just personally can't really find a comfortable position.

For example, the 2nd and 3rd position does not work for me because I just can't get down harder when the rope presses on my neck. Is there any proven way? P.s the picture is not mine

If 2 and 3 don't work for you then this method may not be the best for you.
Sorry I can't tell you what else could work. I used 2 and 3 but it's rough. Mentally and physically. That's why I decided short susp wasn't for me.

Sorry to hear about all the pain and cramps you went through. Have never seen anyone else who said they got cramps when attempting partial... If you don't mind me asking, are the red marks on your skin gone or are they still there? Do they still hurt? If they are gone, how long did it take for them to disappear?

Well, there's still a trace. It doesn't hurt much, but it's quite visible. I am saved by my super long hair and elongated chin, which hide it well. If it wasn't that, probably other people would already have questions for me))) At the expense of pain, it wasn't particularly painful, it was rather scary and uncomfortable
