I told myself I'd read the Bible and Quran before ctb. Just in case. Because although I probably don't believe in God, there's still a part of me terrified I'm going to hell because I'm not "saved".

I've been trying for so many years to force myself and I just can't motivate myself to do it. I've tried audio books and listening with someone else - but I just can't concentrate. I don't know why I find it so hard.

There are many antidotes to this but I don't want to push my beliefs on you so I'll keep it brief. Most of them involve questioning the idea that the only hells to worry about are the Judeo-Christian ones. So you would ask things like "how does the awareness of hell protect me from going there?" "how do I know that hell isn't the hell of a past religion or maybe one that hasn't been invented yet?" and so on until the reasoning breaks down.

Thank you for replying
That makes sense but I guess what worries me is the apologists. For example someone like William Lane Craig will say Christianity is the most rational worldview and gives a lot of arguments to back this up. And I'm too exhausted to read the never ending back and forth debates between atheists and theists

I find these debates exhausting as well. I would say the most rational world view is to say that what exists is what we can see, touch, taste, hear, and smell, not the supernatural. I don't know a lot about William Lane Craig but you could use the same reasoning as above and ask "why worry about Christian apologists when there are so many other theologies to worry about?"

Thank you <3
I think Christianity has the most apologists. I think there are some for Islam, but not really for other religions as far as I'm aware?

I'm not sure but if Christianity has the most it makes sense that our focus/concern would be directed there.

Yes, that's why I feel I need to read the Bible... I just can't seem to make myself :(

Regardless of what the Holy Bible states, there's ony one sin that God cannot forgive. You definitely haven't commited that.
