I don't understand.
As children we have no money or freedom to do what we want. The unluckiest of us will have even been abused.
As adults we're expected to waste 5 days a week working morning to evening, in return for only 2 days to actually enjoy life. Of course most of your money goes on rent, bills, and responsibilities, so you won't have much to 'enjoy life' with anyway. Then there's the fact that you'll be tired after slaving away all week, so probably won't have the energy/motivation to do much more than rest anyway...

How is anyone happy with this arrangement?! Everyone blindly accepts it and I can't fathom why. What kind of life is that?

I saw someone post on social media saying they had a 'great day' working in a supermarket, and going on about how much they love customer service. Holy fuck HOW are you happy with such a meaningless existence?

Does anyone else feel like this?

I think some of it depends on what is going on in your core or what has happened there.
You could have no issues of abuse, have happy marriage, nice parents and friends etc and actually even if you work a job that is neither here nor there, the bad days won't seem so bad, you can tune that stuff out, be a good person and the good days will be worth writing home about.
If you've got underlying issues, tonnes of debt, emotional, physical or psychological pain a myriad of other things, these will tune you in to negative stuff, both for you and the world at large.
I've got no problem with people being happy even though I am not, it's not their fault.
I do have a problem with people who think it's okay to harm others.
I feel this conundrum though brother, I wish I could be carefree.

You sound like you're applying meaning to different types of existence and using it as an excuse to be derogatory to people who have to 'work to live. '
I'm my opinion it's a choice one may feel any existence is meaningless. Personally I believe meaning is very likely due to the obscurity of existing out of nothing to begin with which in that case I do believe this is a living 'hell' as people call eternal suffering.

You sound like you're looking for hidden meanings that aren't there, just for the sake of talking shit. No one is being 'derogatory', I envy those people. While they're happy I'm on a fucking suicide website. My criticism was also very clearly of the 'system', not of the people who have no choice but to partake in it.

I think they think we're here for a greater purpose and are content with very small things and pleasures. Realising the world is meaningless causes depression. My two cents.

I guess you're right. It's crazy to think there are people out there who weren't abused, have loving parents, fulfilling friendships and relationships, etc. Sounds like a dream. I can't even imagine what that must feel like. There are really people out there who have never felt so low they hunted all over the Internet for the easiest way out of here? Wild... lol

People are "happy" because they have some kind of chip in their brains so as not to think how strange life, the universe and so on are.
That chip allows them to live a "normal" life without having CTB thoughts like we do.
I kinda envy them sometimes... but in the end, my recoveries are temporary and I end up wanting to disappear again

There are lots of factors that determine one to be happy or/and sad.

Wouldn't be here if I knew. Money would solve the issues for me though, I mean few mil invested so I can do nothing but breath, sleep and intake nutritients. I can enjoy living spontaneously, travel, or do nothing for months working on a project at odd hours.

Impossible with any kind of a job. I already do what "I like", so I find "do what you love to get paid" saying bs - unless you can get paid for doing nothing and anything, just get on with life without work, and that being your job and get paid for it.

i asked a young guy once if he would rather die peacefully now or live and spend the rest of his life in a prison cell, and his reply was he'll choose to live. i asked why and his reply was that by being alive in prison he'll still get to eat food...

so yeah i dont understand how some people can live a pointless existence and be happy about it. and then some people actually get pissed off at you for thinking that suicide is better than pointless suffering because according to them when you are suffering "at least you're still alive"

I wonder the same thing. I think that some people just operate from a different mindset where they don't think too deeply or dwell too much on all of the problems, issues, injustices, and blatant cruelty of the world. They just narrow in on their own little corner of the universe, enjoy what pleasures they have, and don't ponder much beyond that.

I envy those people

At least im still alive hahaha, right?
Thats so stupid, everyone thinks being alive is the best and most important thing. They put "being alive" over everything else, being happy, being free, having friends and so on. But why tf would i want to live if i don't have anything to live for???

Been in that exact situation where you're talking about a reason you'd kill yourself and other people are like?? Why?? At least we have life?? Like yeah that's the issue
