What's the major difference between hotel and home in terms of the aftermath?
Pros and cons?

A completely individual matter.
It depends on the situation.

Do you have family that lives with you?
If so and you are rarely completely alone, a hotel is a better option.
You don't want anyone interrupting your CTB.
Sometimes people also choose a hotel because they do not want to traumatize their family.

If you live alone, it is of course best to stay at home.
In my opinion, a much more comfortable option.
You can also program a message that will be automatically sent to services, or something like that.

Of course, if your option is a hotel, you also need to be careful.
If you make loud noises and/or panic, the staff may become concerned about your situation.

In my opinion, if someone cannot CTB at home, the best option is to rent a summer house or something similar.
Of course, if possible.
Not everyone can afford it.

It all depends on your method and life situation.
You need to think about your situation and choose the best option.

Home if you are alone or you are 100% sure you will not be disturbed. Hotel in all the other scenarios.

Chain hotel room, bc:
- the staff are prepared
- your family wont be shocked and doenst need to clean up
- your house wont have the value depreciated
- in case you change your mind, you need just one call to call reception and ask for help
The staff are prepared? Wait, what?

Seems like that would be really traumatizing to housekeeping staff.

If I'm going to traumatize someone by having them find my dead body, I would rather it be someone I hate who had a role in my emotional decline so they can see for themselves the consequences of their actions.

Chain hotel staff are surely way more prepared than any regular mother or father for this kind of event. Have a look in a standard protocol regading finding death cases in hotel:

OP asked which is better Home or Hotel. Surely its much better to your body being found by a professional place with protocol. Or would you like your mother or father be the ones to find your body and have to clean all the mess?

And of course we are considering to put a sign in the entrance of the room so the staff could call police instead of just entering and seing the body in the room.

I feel the act of traumatizing staff can be prevented by doing it in bathroom with door closed and just leave a note outside to call 911?

This is a very thoughtful response.

I'd have been inclined to say that your family and friends, and inevitably some others, will find out regardless. As such the location doesn't matter too much. They will all feel sad regardless, one would hope anyway.

Nope, we're not prepared at all. The person that will find your body is a maid making minimum wage and she will likely be extremely traumatized.

Thats why one should put a sign in the entrance of the room
And yes, a chain hotel staff is definetly more prepared than any regular old mom, lets be realistic for godsake!
