Is it selfish to use a hotel room to CTB? I'd be affecting some hotel company and the employees. I just don't have enough privacy at home to complete the act.

I personally do not see it as being selfish. Suicide is a human right after all. Many people who ctb in hotel rooms have limited options for places to ctb. I think that people should be able to die in their own homes without the fear of being interrupted and others should respect someone elses personal decisions.

If you do it in the bathroom, perhaps it would be courtesy to leave a note on the door to warn them not to come in. That way they can call an ambulance or the police to handle the scene

No i do not think so, it is better than traumatizing your own family.

That's a really good idea. Or if I lay down in bed for it, I can draw the covers up over me with a note pinned to them.

Good question. I'm conflicted. I'd rather go to a hotel but also don't want to traumatize hotel staff. It's a burden on them. Leaving a warning note for the staff is a great idea. I'll be hopefully in a bed so maybe hanging a large sign somewhere...

If I did it at home then my house is turned into a crime scene with police poking around. It may affect the value of my house, right? It's considered stigmatized, or is that just in murder situations?
I might just do it in my car ( I have a pretty big SUV) I'm just unsure how comfortable I would be without the luxury of a bed, bathroom, running water if I end up needing those amenities.
IDK 🤷🏻‍♀️

How are you planning to ctb? If you're going to blow your brains out, I would say yes, because of the mess you leave behind. Same goes for cutting blood vessels.

Wondering this as well. I wanted to do it in a hotel with SN/PSH because it's a change of scenery but someone will have to find me

I am not decided. Fentanyl is a possibility, so no mess. Or maybe bleeding, which I guess would leave a mess.

I pesonally don't know how to feel. I mean insensitive to say but society brought it upon themselves when suicide isn't considered a right. All the bloody and traumatizng suicides are just a byproduct of not giving people access to euthanasia.

Mentally it's probably more difficult to do it at home that's why I'm opting for hotel instead

I'm undecided. I would prefer to ctb at home but is that selfish because of the distress to my family?

i don't think it truly matters what happens after we die, but i can certainly relate to the worry. it's only natural to wonder how it will affect other people.

At a certain point, you have to settle on the setting, there's always going to be someone or something "affected", but most of the time it doesn't outweigh your own misery and experiences which have affected you to the point of suicide.
If a hotel room is the safest place you can find for yourself to ctb without issue, then I don't see a problem with it.
In order to avoid anyone having to stumble upon your corpse or clean up, you would have to accomplish the feat of a perpetual missing person, which is far from a possible or reasonable option for those seriously contemplating taking their own life.
(A natural death isn't much different in that regard.)

If individuals or society in general have such a distaste for the suicidal and what they must do (or how they do it) then they should be actively protesting (in the ways they are able) to bring about a more humane and private option of euthanasia.
In my observations, those who attempt to victimize themselves over another person's suicide, especially that of a stranger, are the same people who would restrict the deceased stranger from more agreeable ways of handling their suicide, so I don't give much credence to their outcries in the aftermath unless the context makes room for it.
Gun ranges for example..people who have ended their lives under the guise of practicing their shot, etc, have been torn to shreds and further 'decimated' postmortem by the crowds who find out about the event, as well as the owner of the range who puts their profits above any semblance of empathy for the one who has perished. I have witnessed absolutely disgusting, dehumanizing commentary yet these people offer no alternatives, certainly not any instantaneous methods that are on par with a gun shot to the head.
Suffering breeds desperation..restrictions on how a person can end said suffering just amounts to even more desperation, the whole blame game and black and white "suicide prevention" movement lends its hand to this increase in panicked grasping for a way out.

That's my dilemma too, I don't know if I will be able to ctb in a hotel room for reasons that differ from your own, but I do relate to wanting to avoid my place of residence becoming a "crime scene".
I am an extremely private person who would like to avoid further humiliation or poking around after death.
Some people don't seem to give a damn about what happens after their death, even if their memory is dragged through the mud.
I, on the other hand, give plenty of damns about how things are handled when I'm gone.
If I could obliterate my existence, any signs or remnants of it and disappear into the void..I would, but that's obviously not feasible.
