I'm doing the sn method. Is a chain hotel a bad idea?Other than that option, I was thinking of going to an independent super cheap hotel because they may not have anyone in the rooms next to me...as they're more likely to be struggling to get rooms booked. Is that a better idea?

I'm also thinking of timing. Deciding between 7pm and 12/1 am. 7pm because in between talking to somebody I want to listen to music, plus people are likely to be at dinner..Would it be best to do it at 12am though, after everyone has gone to bed or even 1am to be certain. Would I get complaints if I played relatively quiet music at 12am/1 am? I was thinking that people won't really be able to hear it through the walls.

All feedback appreciated. Thankyou.

A soulless chain hotel would probably be absolutely fine. They're usually big and cavernous! I'd say music at that time would be fine, I'm sure people watch TV till that time regularly.

Hi @Hope:-), for your answer, I think of many parameters.

Firstly, what do you think about listening to your music with headphones ? That could be more less noisy Imo.
Then, I think that I would do it aroud midnight, because if someone calls you for any reason, that could alert.
Lastly, I don't know much about how body react to SN but I intend to do so. Is the death due to SN noisy ? Do the lungs make noise ? If yes, I think that hotel could be a little risky.

Whatever you choose, I don't encourage you,

I hope that you'll find the peace and love you deserve <3

See you soon, I hope every members here will meet again up there

I would do it probably at any hotel. However, there is something very important you need to consider, the walls. Most hotels have soundproof walls which make people noises almost go unnoticeable. Meaning that if they scream or make noises, they won't likely be heard. Make sure the hotel you choose gives you this. When we are dying, sometimes we can breathe more heavily or gasp for air. Sometimes we may vomit (mostly with sn method) while we are unconscious. The music if you decide to take a speaker, put it low like a tv kind of level and it shouldn't alert anyone. As for the time, I think 7pm would be a good time. I used to be a housekeeper at a hotel, and the rooms and noises even screams couldn't be heard. I worked everyday on different rooms where people were near of and I couldn't hear them not even talking even though they were. So good hotels with soundproof are the choice to go, at least that is my advise. Best wishes on whichever decision you take. May we rest peacefully.

I think it will look a bit suspect if I ask 'are the walls soundproof?' Anyone know how I could find a way to aak that?Maybe I'll google the chain hotel I'm going to to see if they're soundproof.

Any more feedback regarding the time I should do it? I would like to listen to music a bit whilst prepping then |'ll be chatting with someone. What sort of time do you think? It's imperative I don't get caught. x

I'd play it off along the lines of pretending you are offended and cant sleep if thear are noises from other guests, and want to make sure if others are making noise, you'll be able to still sleep.

That is a personal decision, and you shouldn't be pressed to do something at a particular time. That being said, be aware of when rooms are being cleaned.

I'm going to put do not disturb on my door so the room isn't cleaned. I'm staying there for 2 nights...well, I'll be booking that. I'm a bit confused as to what to do about the soundproofing. One review said there was great soundproofing, another that it was awful. I think I'll email them and ask. As for the time, I'm leaning toward 12 am so that if people hear any groaning they'll think it's just snoring.

A big chain hotel is best i think. You will at least be found by cleaners in the morning. You should probably do it around 8pm as the noise you make will not be noticed as much, also have the tv on on a reasonably high volume. 12am might be a mistake as if it is very quiet and the quite hours sounds like dry retching or moaning will be noticed a lot more by your hotel neighbours etc

Do you think I should ask for a ground floor room and say it's because I like to exercise and don't want to disturb people? I want to lay on the floor and think a ground floor room would be best for this so that I don't get heard by people below me. What do you think?

I think people assume strangers are more caring than they actually are. I pretty much live in hotels because of my line of work (currently on day 177 straight staying in different hotels) and I can assure you that nobody is going to report you unless you're super loud and banging around.
Even if you were crying and sniffling somewhat loudly, you're neighbours probably won't care or seek for a wellness check.

As long as put a "do not disturb" notice on your door handle, nobody is going to knock or enter. Even if you don't put one on the door but put the chain/latch on the door, they're still not going to force themselves into your room; they'll knock, open door a crack, see that the latch is on, close the door, and go about their day.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I'm sure I'm over thinking it. Quick question- Is doing it the night before checkout too late. I'm expected to check out by 12pm.

I would say I have a (virtual) meeting for work that may last for hours, will others be able to hear?

Even though I'm using a different method, I booked 3 nights and will be doing it no later than the second afternoon. I think you're cutting it close, but I'm super cautious. I'm even considering 4 nights!

Thanks for responding. I read that sn takes a maximum of 4 hrs to kill someone though, so wouldn't one night be enough?
