So I just reserved the hotel for my ctb:

I made sure it has acoustic insulation(pretty neat that you can filter for that in booking.com), a bathtub(Plan B is SWB) and got a pretty cheap price(60 bucks for a night normally 100) but a week later then hoped for. My bad for procrastinating

Anything I forgot? Hotel/Location wise?

Hotel is a terrible idea.

What about the innocent person who finds your corpse? That will ruin them for life.

Thanks, Yes I kinda practiced where my spots are and how the ratched works. But I've heard that its hard, thats why I've got Plan B.

Yes I know, but I think it is still better than the alternatives. I unfortunately do not live alone.
Also sadly, It is pretty common for hotels to have suicides(especially in cities), so they have procedures for that. And with my method, I will have a relative normal looking corpse(so no blown up head with a loaded shotgun besides, etc...). I will have the do not disturb sign on and if the rooms structure allows it than I will have my will on the entrance, so staff has a headsup

I'm thinking hotel soon. Maybe leave a note by the door letting whoever walks in know that you've CTB and they should call the authorities. I'd do the same so cos I don't want the staff to to see/deal with it.

I didn't know you could do that with booking.com! A very useful fact to know for later. I have no useful input other than I agree with the comment above about leaving a note saying you've ctb.

I wish you the best and I hope you find peace <3

If CTB at hotel, please make a note on the outside of the bathroom door for when the staff enter your room.
Just say something like " please do not enter, suicide victim inside, please call police first ".

No one cares. People die everyday. They will forget it in a day or two. The truth is the truth it doesnt matter how hard is to hear it.

They will not forget that in a day or two.

Coming across someone who has killed themselves is a right mess, it won't be a good sight or memory.

IMHO , putting a sign/note outside is not recommended . What if you fail to ctb ? What if the police managed to stop you from ctbing? What if the ambulance managed to revive you? .... So many things can go wrong.

Has to be inside, So when the cleaning staff is entering the room, do not put one outside! But I plan to do it at night(so my corpse won't be decomposing when they find me in the morning). The chance of a cleaning lady coming in at midnight is pretty slim ;)

please at least consider your surroundings. don't assume, rather make sure. if someone sees your corpse it could traumatize them for life. suicide is not that easily forgettable.

It's not so. People forget anything within hours. Even our suicide. We imagine it's such a big deal, but it's actually not. The cops will just pick up your body, take it to the morgue and go have a beer with the boys and will not even bring it up during the beer time and playing pool or watching football. It was just a day at work for them.
The hotel workers won't care either, maybe it's happened before in their hotel or another hotel they used to work at.
Trouble is, we think a lot.

What about container in case you puke SN while in your position in the bathtub? Would taking carton bag work? The kind that someone puts on their head when embarrassed? Or bag where you carry pastry that you bought in bakery? I don't know of any other container...

So I'm thinking of trying to book the hotel somewhere that isn't important to anyone I love. If I booked one in one of their favourite cities, it could change the meaning of the city for them.

I often consider this part of it all. I want a place that they don't really know about or drive by. Or really have a reason to go to. No reminders = limited sadness.

I hope so. But also not so far that it's complicated to get my body back for a funeral, I don't want to inconvenience them that way either. I don't even want a funeral honestly...

You mean you can have this respected as your will? If I don't want my relative to ever see my body after CTB is it possible? But where the body will be buried if it's not cremation?

Why do you need to cover the peephole? You can turn off the light in the room.
And air conditioning thing. Should one turn it off due to force majeur which is unlikely to happen but still? Or turning it off in a very hot weather would seem suspicious?

In my country have police email but it's not for urgent inquiries. They have FB chat but messages cannot be scheduled.
But why notify police if upon your checkout hotel staff will notice you are missing?

Be aware that some hotel staff, especially the front desk, are sometimes trained to spot potential CTBers. It certainly can happen.

For example, if you show up with no luggage in a city you live in is a pretty good indicator you may have plans.

That is why I have chosen to CTB in a hotel on a business trip. I fit the profile of a business traveller.

I do like the idea of leaving a note on the bathroom door if that is where you plan to CTB to warn someone.

Oh I didn't know this. If a person is unable to travel very far from home due to lack of funds what do you suggest then?

Have a story to tell. Bring an over night bag and say they are painting. You can't deal with the smell
I'd also suggest covering the peephole. Some hotels have a reverse lense that can see in.
