In my country there are private and public psych wards, private ones you need insurance for and are much nicer and more therapeutic. I decided I really needed help and that I want to go to a private hospital again, I got my doctor to send a referral and I just got a call saying they won't take me because I'm on a court treatment order for my bipolar. I'm so lost about what to do. Public hospitals don't have the funds to help at all. I really need a new psychiatrist if I have a chance of getting better. I also really need a new doctor to give me clearance so I can start work again next year. I feel so lost and hopeless, like the world is against me. I only recently got hope and it was because I thought I'd be able to go to hospital to get better.

I'm really sorry for your situation. can you tell the court you agree that you need to be hospitalised and you have a particular hospital in mind but you can only go there without court order so please take the court order back? maybe if you tell them the specific hospital name and promise you'll go there?

Yeah I called them today begging for them to take the order off, they said they'll see what they can do. I really need to go to the hospital like ASAP though and they didn't understand me when I said that. I'm worried that they'll interfere too and tell the new hospital how sick I am and then they won't want to take me anymore. I just wish it was easier

I really feel with you, I've been hospitalised quite a few times (also bipolar..) and I have public insurance but also needed to go to a specific private hospital several times and it was so hard to convince my insurance company that it's better for everyone if I would go to that private hospital. I was always lucky but it was always a real struggle... I hope it works out for you! (Are you in Germany? Sounds like the German system, like mine)

No I'm in Australia, I've been to Germany before and loved it! I'm glad you were lucky with getting in, I'm going to call them again first thing tomorrow and I hope I'm lucky too. Feel free to message me if you ever want to chat about bipolar things :)

I am so sorry you're going through this.
Living with bipolar is so hard. It angers me when these "professionals" who have never had to first hand experience the pain, think they have any right to deny you what you know you need. They are clueless idiots.
It's no wonder we reach out to others when these so called brain-dead professionals can't do their jobs right.

Again, I am so sorry you're going through this. I hope to whatever creator/being/energy there is out there that they sort this out for you. You deserve respect and to be taken seriously. It's hard enough having this condition and not being listened to.

Sorry you facing this I dunno why so many countries make it so hard to public health system, where I am from all you need is a doctor letter and a free up bed from the clinic. Love Australia too, oi oi oi.
