Alrighty folks, if you're having trouble finding the sweet spot I can help. So, I've tried partial in various ways (knot at the front, back, high and low) and have tried pressing at my carotids in many ways (sitting down and dropping into my fingers bent over in a chair, interlacing the fingers behind my neck and pressing with the thumbs, clasping my hands together, etc), I've criss-crossed rope and pulled as hard as I can, I've pulled with all my might with a noose in front of the neck, with and without padding, and have also tried throwing the rope around a chair with the knot in the back of the neck and pulling, even using the legs. All of this has either led to exploding head or literally nothing. Sometimes I grazed the carotids along with the jugulars but felt no fainting.

I now know how to actually catch the carotids without any fuzz. You simply lean back in a chair and throw your head back. Expose the neck as much as possible. Find the pulse and press inwards (very little force is needed, I used my index and middle fingers). If you're not light-headed, tingling and having your vision fade within a few seconds, let me know.

I have a shitty ratchet strap that cost 8 dollars from a gas station and plan on ranger-rolling a couple of tshirts, duct-taping them in place and using what I just learned to pass out. Meaning that I'll want to twist my head backwards as much as possible when strapping myself to death.

Possible annoying stuff: The padding will cover a large area compared to two fingertips, could this be relevant? The padding may also be softer than the fingertips. There might be a problem with at the same time generating enough pressure for the carotids whilst completely sparing the trachea, especially with the ratchet at the back of the neck.

If anyone has experience with actually passing out when using a ratchet strap or gorilla tape and padding, please post the details of your successful (?) experience.

Edit: looks like I'm actually going to have to buy cornhole bags. Fml.

Edit 2: this "discovery" has apparently been mentioned tens of times on the forum, lmfao. I recommend the NN megathread and so on.

Interesting. I will have to experiment later.

In my previous attempts (same as you— high knot, low, back of neck, side, front) I was always letting my body weight pull me down but getting the exploding head feeling. The biggest difference I saw was when I was looking into auto-asphyxiation/breath control (in a non-sexual way, I'd just seen a lot of cases where they accidentally fell unconscious and died). Anyway, I saw a video which said leaning forward into the noose/ligature will bring about dizziness then unconscious relatively quick, then once you're unconscious your body will go limp and hang. I tried it, could breathe the whole time while I was leaning forward but could soon feel myself getting dizzy and seeing black spots within 10-15 seconds. Have you tried leaning forward in it?

No, haven't tried that but that was at the top of my list until I jumped to night-night. I guess my concern with that is that the trachea would still get hit (in my case at least), the noose never closes fully, and I might regain consciousness after I've dropped if the noose doesn't close.

My intuition tells me that I would not manage to pass out like that but with my recent discovery I might be able to. It's then the transition into a suspension that's risky. Ignoring obvious stuff like having to do it in public (no anchor point), with night-night I jut have to be alone at home or whatever due to the noise.

I found my carotids long time ago after few hits and misses. It seems doable and easy, but the feeling when i loose myself into visual snow is terrible, maybe not dreadful but very uneasy. And my arms starts to shake like crazy. Maintaining pressure more than few seconds by hand is impossible for me. That's all of my experiences with carotid compression.

This is interesting I'm going to try it later. I just swiped a ratchet strap from work so have something to practice with.

I was the same as you, every time I tried to find my "sweet spot" all I got was exploding head.

are you saying to tilt your head over the back of the chair?

I'm guessing people mean the spot where the common splits into int/ext? I mean, we can close the common at any point to restrict blood flow... The "sPoT" should be anywhere where a pulse is felt along the common.

When you managed to block the arteries, did it matter how high or low on the neck you were blocking them?

Not really, just pressed where I felt a pulse.

I can feel my pulse no matter how high or low I go so I'm never sure if I should go lower or higher. Also when I try to block my carotid with hand, I can only block my jugular.

After a pretty traumatic failed attempt at the night night method last year and idk how many hours of trying to figure out how to compress the carotid arterys i had basically given up on this but this has been the first time where it actually worked and it didnt feel like my head was going to explode. i honestly cant thank you enough.

It took me weeks of trying and using different things. What helped me the most was to follow all hope is lost information. D-ring or belt in front, high on neck, head up but most importantly pre-tighten. I've had 2 belts break, I was standing up for one and sitting in the chair for the other but fell out. Both times out cold. First one the buckle broke right away. The 2nd one got me 4-5days locked in the hospital, that was last week. Make sure no one will find you and it will hold you thrashing about. It takes a lot of practice.
