• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Great traditions! Our family did one that came down from the great grandparents or earlier. A cake made with lemon and raspberry was made for the evening and could not be cut until after midnight. Everybody had a piece of the cake to start the the year anew. Before you ate the cake, everybody downed a bourbon concoction first to wash away the old of the past year.

This sounds familiar - except in my family everyone is as still too full from Christmas to eat cake on New Years- so I think they just downed the (yuk!)

The Queen hosts a garden party in Scotland. When the Scottish waiter arrives with a tray of cakes, she asks, "Is that a scone, or a meringue?"
The waiter replies: "Naw, yer quite right, that's a scone."

There's nothing worn under the kilt, lass; everything's in first-class operating condition.
I'm glad to hear that the freezing weather doesn't affect their plumbing.

Maybe it's my Scots ancestory, but I've found that when wearing my kilt in cold weather, my lower body doesn't get cold. My torso does --I'll freeze fast without a good sweater!-- and the time I slipped on ice and fell on my butt in a deep snowbank (kilt rucked up around my armpits, all wha God gae me on display --not my most dignified moment) wasn't any fun, but aside from such mishaps, from the belt down the cold isn't a concern. I suspect the heavy wool of the kilt serves to trap body warmth and keep all the important equipment warm.

Ah the heavy wool makes sense. I was once mooned by a Scottish man in a kilt at a party. I thought that the naked bum was just a one-off though, not a tradition.
