Kind of a short answer. Care to say why no?
I'd probably use ear plugs and maybe headphones without music instead.......if I were to go for that methosd
I agree with not traumatizing others, but that said I saw where another user on another thread suggested beating the anticipation of the on coming train by having your favorite music blasting in your head phones. Also with the bag over the head/booze/pills as OP suggested, you wouldn't see it coming.
Why so? For religious purposes or the sight of the first person who will discover your body?Nah, I wanna die leaving my body completely perfect, not decapitated.
Nah, I'm sorry. It doesn't matter what my head's covered with, what I've taken or how loud the music is, there's no WAY I'm gonna be able to just lie there waiting for such a violent end. My mind will be doing somersaults and there's *every* chance I'll chicken out.I agree with not traumatizing others, but that said I saw where another user on another thread suggested beating the anticipation of the on coming train by having your favorite music blasting in your head phones. Also with the bag over the head/booze/pills as OP suggested, you wouldn't see it coming.
this place is The Bus Stop for a reason: some of us are doing it as quickly as possible. We're gathering supplies, or whatever (waiting for the bus) and sitting around talking. If none of us had ANY reservations whatsoever about ctb, we'd not be here discussing the ins and outs; we'd just do it as quickly as possible...!
I think this may have been discussed already but I've had direct experience of this and the fallout from it was horrendous (grandpoppa did similar to this and we had to go to coroners Court, the testimony of the driver was harrowing).Go to the train tracks at night wearing black and bringing along a black bag. Lay down on your back with your neck resting on one side of the tracks and your body on the outside of the tracks. Place a black bag over your head........wait for the train to come along an decapitate you by the neck (the black clothes and black bag over head is to minimize the risk of the train operater seeing you and possibly pulling the brakes)
I admit it would take serious balls to be able to lay still, when you could hear the train approaching, but I'm thinking if you drug yourself out with booze and pills beforehand then.........maybe it could work? Should be completely painfree as it will happen so fast.
Tbh my first suicidal ideation was using a train track. I thought about taking a bike lock, locking myself to the tracks and throwing the key out if reach.
On reflection this would so horrific for me. The panic of realising there was no escape would be unbearable. And people do weird things in life or death situation, I'd be scared I'd try and bite through my arm or something to escape.
If fear isn't an issue for you jumping is probably a safer bet than train. Wait people fail to fully comprehend us that for the train drive they get hit with two lots of trauma. Obviously the trauma of having killed someone, but also the trauma of not being able to do anything to stop it. They put that guilt on themselves.
Suicide isn't a selfish act, but making someone unwilling kill you makes it one.
Actually .. if you read the link you supplied ..@RoseyBird Actually even with a guilotine, you are still conscious for about 30 seconds: source .
Most modern physicians believe that the reactions described above are actually reflexive twitching of muscles, rather than conscious, deliberate movement. Cut off from the heart (and therefore, from oxygen), the brain immediately goes into a coma and begins to die. According to Dr. Harold Hillman, consciousness is "probably lost within 2-3 seconds, due to a rapid fall of intracranial perfusion of blood" [source: New Scientist].
I concur .On reflection this would so horrific for me. The panic of realising there was no escape would be unbearable
This. Many people go to Beachy Head drugged and drunk , stand at the cliff's edge (one foot in the air) , waiting for a light breeze or to lose balance -- but just can't. Overwhelming sensory input of imminent death (sight sound etc) flooding the body is horrific.
I like the extension of the metaphor, there...this place is The Bus Stop for a reason: some of us are doing it as quickly as possible. We're gathering supplies, or whatever (waiting for the bus) and sitting around talking.
