Helping to keep the forum safe

So recently, its become more apparent that there are users here who don't respect this forums rules and disregard all behavior contrary to what should conducted when online. It comes as a great disappointment to us mods that there are users who've been exposed to such behavior that makes them feel unsafe and uncomfortable to the extent where the only way they can get away from it is to leave this forum, afraid that they would hurt someone unintentionally when all they wanted was to be left alone, for that to be respected.

This forum is meant to be for those who are struggling in every capacity across all aspects of life, to discuss and feel a sense of community, foster connections with those that understand their daily hardship small or great, Sadly some use this to their advantage, to give people here the false impression that they can be trusted and confided in and then excuse their behavior when it is inappropriate and against the values of this forum and why it still stands to this to day for those who need it the most out there in a world that will not listen to them openly and without prejudice.

We can't tolerate or allow people to deviate this place from its intended purpose, it begins with everyone who has ever been harmed by such behavior to not be afraid, come forward and talk to the mods with all possible evidence to sort out such matters in order for them to be held accountable no matter their popularity or activity on this site.

To add, thanks to the bravery and honesty of users who have been affected by these minority users, certain members have been removed from the forum for safety of users which is paramount to us especially in a place where so many of you seek solidarity, friendship, connection, understanding and compassion and we want users to feel comfortable approaching staff with any and all concerns of inappropriate or boundary violating behavior.

Since this thread is pinned I think there is nothing more you can do than simply force policing according to forum rules now.
Site is gathering more and more attention by the days, while being a human does not guarantee one not to be a bad actor all the time.
Rules are rules, they are for inappropriate actions, not users/people. If this moderation is not solid, any community, let alone one about suicide, will devolve into internet debris.

I don't doubt that you've been working hard to keep this forum a safe space for us, but I can't help but agree with some of the other users that I haven't seen this behavior unless you are referring to the incel-esque arguments or the usual "this place used to be better" sorta stuff.

Thanks for doing something, but what exactly did you do? What should we look out for that has apparently been slipping through the cracks and has been left to break the rules for so long?

I have seen it, atleast some of it, some of the things that make you question people's literacy and maturity, but I don't insinuate that nothing is happening or that nothing substantial is being done to keep things in order. Obviously we are not aware of everything happening the way mods do, especially if we login to the site once or twice a week. but just because we don't see it doesn't mean it's not there. Just because we don't have a full grasp on how much such things are hurting other users and how much every drama and report that comes with it adds to the tedious list of things to do for mods doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye and belittle their effort. The bare minimum is being asked of us, to act like adults and help them in keeping this place a safe space and that is not a hard thing to do.

The romantic incidents that moderator @Dot mentions is an interesting and unfortunately understandable one. I'd take a guess that this is more often than not male to female users and you'd think that with this being a place where a majority want to die (now or soon) that people could just accept it's inappropriate.

People come on here more often than other forums so I guess they build a relationship with other users but at the end of the day unless you're meeting in person or doing phone calls or video chats then we're all just strangers who should be friendly with eachother even though it's difficult to call anyone a friend from just words on a screen.

I am so grateful that u mentioned this specifically. And I feel so validated. A few days ago, I had gotten in touch with a mod here for something very similar and the fact that you guys took this seriously only reaffirms my faith in this great community.

Thanks for the clarity and acknowledgement of problems within the platform, as I think we were all just kind of left in the dark by Goku Black, which just left us to decipher the vagueness and ambiguity of the post, leaving us on an uncomfortable note with a sense of paranoia in the air. Thanks for the subtext as I think it provided some relief and alleviated some of the pressure.
