Help Help with sn and mic

I live in Italy and am looking for SN from Merck. They asked me if I needed "REACH" compliance. How should I answer? Does asking for this ensure that the chemical is certified to the required purity? Also, in this seller's listing, I see "SN," but the formula next to it is "NaNO3."

NaNo3 is Sodiume NitrAte, that isn't at all what you want. You want Sodium NitrIte (NaNO2) (I know it's confusing that they both have the initials SN)

As for buying from Merck or what "REACH" compliance is, I can't say. But you definitely do not want to buy NaNO3, you want NaNO2

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I know I need nitrite and I know the formula—in fact, I told the seller that, and he said it was nitrite. Anyway, I'm not planning on buying from him.

Yes even the fact that he has the wrong formula in the listing would be enough for me to not buy from him.

Unfortunately it's just a numbers game and a matter of luck. I think at least some of the sellers on there are aware of why so many people are looking to buy "samples" of Sodium Nitrite, so you just need to find one of them.

I read your post just this morning and started looking into it. Unfortunately, it's very expensive, so I decided to get one from a seller here in Europe first; then, if that doesn't work out, I'll buy from Mic. Your post was very helpful for finding a seller, thanks for posting it.

Yes I think the sellers are intentionally overcharging because they know they can get away with it given the reason people are buying (it's not like you can take it with you).

I hope you have luck finding some for yourself, and I hope you're able to find peace
