Help Help! Towed vehicle.

This is super off topic.

But I got myself in big trouble, which helped me to reach here. This is a place that always listens.

My uncle asked me to take care of his car a week ago, I parked it on the street and forgot about it. Today I remembered and went to check, but it was already towed. I feel hopeless, since I have no fucking idea on what to do.

It happened in LA in the city of Torrance, the worse part is that his car is from Mexico. He's on a trip right now in Asia and will not be back until the end of the month.

Please, I don't know what to do. I feel like shit, and after this I'll make sure to end this shit with me, I've had enough of failing to everyone, including myself.

Was it the police that towed it or some other group? If you don't know I recommend asking people who could've been around to see it when it occurred.

Do you have any savings? In case you have to pay to get it back.

I have some savings, I hope that it is enough. If not, I think I can get a loan. I'm not sure when it happened, I parked it last week on Tuesday.

They might want proof of ownership when you go to get the car as well, and I am not sure if the "my uncle told me to take care of it" explanation will work if that is the case.

If you have anything that could help with that if they do ask, have it prepared to be shown and carry it with you when you go to get the car. If you don't have anything like that, then just go anyway and hope that they don't ask for that kind of thing.

If they do, and you have nothing to show them for that? You may have to resort to calling in your uncle. I can tell you don't really want him to know about this whole thing however, so I hope it does not come to that.
