hellium a good way to go?

iv hired a tank of hellium 9ltrs iv a bag with a draw sting for around my neck and iv the tubbing to put from tank to bag only thing stopping me is am i doing it rite? i dont want another failed attempt or end up brain dead but alive etc is balloon grade hellium from a supplier enough to do the job with a plastic bag over my head connected by a tube all i want to know, thanks

From what I have read, the hard part is finding a regulator that fits the helium tank properly, and to know how high the pressure should be.

NO!! Do not use balloon grade helium!! Search for the inert gas megathread in the search function. Nitrogen is now prefered because helium is unreliable.

where do i get nitrogen in belfast what size of tank would i need iv looked online closest is scotland with boc gasses....i joined here for help iv already spent 130 on hellium to be told ita no good to use what now....

It was until some suppliers started mixing it with oxygen to prevent it being used for suicide. Especially if it's balloon grade helium. That's usually 20 percent oxygen mixed in.

Helium is perfectly safe. People tend to buy the party balloon tanks which are absolutely not recommend and not reliable. If you buy from a welding supplier or air gas place, you can select what purity level you want. Helium is more expensive but in my opinion far superior as it is the lightest gas.

For those who are worried about not finding a proper regulator or finding out the correct pressure, could an inert gas be combined with hanging, in such a way that you use the gas in an enclosed space - like a walk-in wardrove - to loose consciouness while hanging yourself?

I personally would not mix techniques. It becomes too complicated with additional failure points and more things for you to keep up with and in your state of mind at that point, you don't want more to think about. Pick one, learn it and specialize in it.

Many people on here automatically reject the idea of combining methods. I'm not one of them. Some methods should not be combined or will interfere with each other, others won't. I'm planning a sort of combined method myself. It's just common sense.
In saying that, you'd need a damn huge tank of gas to fill an enclosed space even like a closet so I don't think it will really work.

Balloon grade helium these days is 20% oxygen and you can breathe this forever with no ill effects- you need to find 100% helim do make this work, and this is tougher to get- maybe you can get this, not sure.
